Tap sample. Pours clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted dark chocolate, coffee and dark rum aroma. Medium to full body with a thick smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet malt and rum flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of long duration. This is a standout porter. crossovert (14134) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 17, 2013
VEry strong rum aspect to this one, it isn’t harsh but it really does an overtake of the flavor profile. alexsdad06 (11224) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 17, 2013
Draft at FoBAB. Pours brown in color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have rum, raisins, medicinal notes, solvent, no real Baltic Porter character to speak of, ample sweetness from the rum. This was not very enjoyable, in fact, it was one of my least favorite beers at FoBAB this year. phaleslu (10898) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Draft sample at FOBAB 2013. Pours a bright amber-brown with no head. My main note is RUM! Yeah, that’s not exactly subtle here. It overpowers everything. Some dark fruits, some barrel, some sweetness, but I’d be foolish to try to give other tasting notes here. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a hot, coating mouthfeel. If you like rum, you might like this. If not, you’ll hate it. I fall somewhere in the middle. Disappointed and not going to try it again. But it’s not CIB-level bad. b3shine (9265) - Indiana, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Draft to 8 oz snifter at Eccentric Cafe. Looks good; a dark and fairly opaque cola with off-white lacing. Smells good too; rum first and dark malt second. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Rummy, but good stuff!

From the shared 750 ml bottle. Carbonation in nose (that smell of a carbonated beer). Body is light with brown sugar and rum. Boozy. Different. Glad to try it. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Tap at fobab 13. Poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma was chemicals and lots o rum with mild roast. Flavor was astringent and loads of rum. No sign of a Baltic Porter underneath either. Really glad I didn’t buy a 750 of this. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - OCT 6, 2013
On tap: The aroma consists of heavy rubbing alcohol, light rum, and a hint of chocolate. It’s a transparent brown with a touch of orange with a minimal off-white head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and caramel. The finish is heavy rum and alcohol. It’s rough...real rough. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, this is WAY too rum forward and the alcohol flavors are too much. It’s borderline doing a straight shot of rum...and I’m not a rum fan at all. bartlebier (4216) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - OCT 9, 2013
Tap sampler, Bell’s Eccentric Café, 31/viii/13. The sheer nose of a sample of this immediately screams out what you are in for: rum & raisins, raisins soaked in rum as in grandma’s Römertopf. Extra vanilla, oak and more rum fumes in the taste: making this a tasty enough raisin rum with extra body - but a flawed baltic porter that would need more time to settle into even becoming a beer (give it a few years?). koleminer20 (4171) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 8, 2014
From notes. On tap at the Eccentric Café on June 13. The pour on this one is dark-ish, yet somewhat see-through with a reddish hue around the edges and no head or lacing. Whoa baby. The aroma is blasting with rum and behind that, maybe a hint of licorice and maybe a little barrel. Nothing distinct but that rum. The flavor is just as boozy. There is a little bit more of a caramel/licorice combo on the very front, but the back is hot and dominated by rum. The mouth feel is thin, really thin, and quite hot on the tongue. The aftertaste is all rum, and very hot and boozy. Whoa.
