DATE: Wednesday, November 9, 2016... OCCASION: Back in Bloom at Filet 18 to celebrate our fifteenth anniversary... a herd of bubbles moves steadily upwards... off-white head, swampy and effervescent... a somewhat hazy, light amber body... first scents offer a metallic ping--bready and pretzel-like... big, medium-bodied with caramel and sweet malts.... not much of the signature Two Hearted hops to speak of... some activity on the teeth, nicely nuanced for a fest... overall, a nicely malted, fresh experience, full, sweet and complete as another fine Bell’s offering...at 22 ounces and $5, quite a deal.... Clear golden body with a foamy white head. Very light malty aroma. Taste is also very light. Had to let it warm up a bit before nice toasted malt and nutty flavors came out. This became almost hazelnut after awhile. Body i light and slightly watery. Finishes soft and dry with lasting nut and toast malt. Good, understated Oktoberfest. On tap at Village Idiot. A touch of bitterness from the hops and a lot of malt. onceblind (9442) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 27, 2016
Clear deep orange/golden under a thin ivory cap. Thin german biscuity and slightly nutty aroma with a light citrusy grassiness. Crisp and dry flavor that’s not too dry, there’s some marzen german malty grainy sweetness peeking through with a touch of bread dough and light grassy german bitterness. Just a classic representation of the style. Colors inside the lines but it’s crisp and tasty. Concealer (1245) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 24, 2016
