Bottle. Not much going on with the aroma. The beer carries a very small white head that disappears quickly No noticeable lacing or retention. It displays a beautiful sparkly orange gold color. Taste is excellent. Crisp and clean with a bready lightly sweet taste. Slightly metallic aftertaste. Good carbonation. Medium light body. Overall, it is a light refreshing beer that goes down smooth. A pleasure to drink.

Bottle. Copper. Bready, toasty and caramel aroma. Tastes the same and slightly bitter. Medium bodied. Solid.

Pours a clear copper orange color. Half finger white head. Retention only a film, thin lacing.

Aroma is malty. Bready. There's some earthy hoppiness. Touch of butter.

Taste is mostly sweet. Touch of bitter hops to balance. Touch of butter. Bread crust. Simple beer.

Mouthfeel is medium light bodied. Lightly dry. Finishes clean, crisp. Lightly sticky and syrupy.

Overall, a good marzen. I'm not blown away, and thus I'm slightly disappointed. But it doesn't really set itself apart too much from most in the style. Still, it's worth a go. I'd recommend it, but might or might not buy it again.

12oz bottle pours a clear copper orange with a large beige head. Aroma of bready malt, light caramel and yeast. Taste of bready caramel malt, lager yeast, and light hop. Simple and pleasant.

Not my thing. A well-rounded bitterness, but not much was really going on that I enjoyed.

BOD 8/17/17. Pours a clear amber with a nice garnet hue. Outstanding head volume and retention, good lacing. The nose is good but lacks intensity and complexity. There is a bready malt sweetness, a touch of nutty biscuit and a hint of herbal hops. The color suggests caramel but it was not easily detected. You have to search for it, which is surprising. The body is heavy light with a nice smooth texture. The carbonation / body balance is good. Effervescence is light mid-palate and only slightly prickly on the finish. The flavor profile is good. Like the nose, complexity and intensity are lacking. Balance is outstanding. Little sweetness is present and consequently a very mild herbal flavor is dominant. Bitterness is quite mild. A touch of nutty biscuit is noted while the bready notes of the nose are absent. The finish is a slow fade and lacks crispness. The herbal hop note lingers.

Bottle from BevMo: Poured an average looking amber topped with a thick cover of foam. Aroma is faint but does have a pinch of hops and sweet malty base. The drink is tasty with minimal caramel and hop flavoring that is well balanced.

Clear deep copper with a small, short lived head. The aroma is slightly nutty, with some toasted and bready malt. There is a slight hint of spicy Nobel hops in there as well. The flavor is pretty intense, with toasted bread, some light caramel and a touch of milk chocolate. Very full body and pretty well balanced, this drinks like a meal, but has some nice character to it.

Bottle from Merchants. Aroma is pretty sweet fruity, grain, metallic, earthy hop, toasted caramel, but a lot sweeter than most Oktoberfest beer. Appearance is amber, light tan head, clear. Taste is sweet, has the Bell's yeast flavor, wheat, corn, toasted caramel, earthy hop, metallic, sweeter than I like. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, slightly boost sweet toasted caramel aftertaste. Overall, not terrible, but still below average.

oobawa (1748) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 23, 2017
Not a bad marzen, heavy on the caramel and nutty side of the equation yet not indulging in any overpowering sweetness. Opens with a quick burst of caramel malt tinged with toffee and bread, then quickly dries out thanks to the floral noble bitterness. Never grows cloy, and offers up modest apple esters underneath the Werthers-ish malt notes. Good color, but lacks much head or lacing. Texture's right for a festbier, perky yet slack enough for heavy imbibing. Tasty regardless.
