Pooltime Ale is a refreshing Belgian-inspired Wheat Ale with light clove notes. The truly distinguishing feature is the use of 100% Montmorency tart cherries grown in the Traverse City region of Michigan. These cherries add a subtle tartness and bright counterpoint to the other flavors, enhancing Pooltimeís fruity character and making it the perfect beer for all summer activities.

How does Bellís always make good beer. The wheat aroma is so nice with hints of cherry. Then the sip is like a nice wheat beer with a hint of clove and then out of knowwhere is the utterly pleasant tart cherry flavor. What a great beer.

No kidding had this on a 94 degree day while swimming in the neighbors pool. I am fan of anything tart cherry and it is common in Poland to mix beer and cherry juice - their version of a radler. This was like that, light, refreshing and a great poolside drink. The cherry and sweetness was not overpowering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy peach color with a thin off white head. The aroma is wheat and cherries and flavor more of the same.

Very hazy pinkish color with a white head. Faint cherry aroma. Smooth wheat flavors and silky mouthfeel. Hint of Belgian yeast spice. Balanced cherry tartness, not overwhelming.

Pours heavily turbid straw colored with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is big cherry, pale malt, mild hops, bready, slight floral. Tastes of big cherry, malty, with hops, a subdued muted maltiness matched by a strong yet well integrated cherry flavor. Fairly rich and complex as fruit beers go.

DOC: 5/1/2017

2015 BJCP Category: 29A Fruit Beer (base style: 1D American Wheat Beer)

AROMA: Almost equal parts wheat bread and tart cherry juice (cherry bread?). Some clean spicy/floral Belgian-like yeast esters. No hop distinctiveness (none needed). 9/12

APPEARANCE: Hazy shade of pale copper with a pink tinge. Moderate white foam mostly fades. 2/3

FLAVOR: Fairly mild wheaty/bready base palette. Not especially sweet, nor rustic grain. Background tart note is evident throughout. Cherry flavor becomes quite strong, sweet and juicy as it finishes. No particular hop character (but none really needed). Though not a robust palette overall, the flavors complement each other nicely for balance. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Smooth texture with a crisp, clean finish. No tart or fruity aftertaste. Refreshing. Feels a tad lighter than 5% ABV, but still quite sessionable as is. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Definitely meets style guidelines for a fruit beer. Nice taste and drinkability. Having a bit more of a niche would be better, though. 8/10

12oz can. Appearance: Hazy pinkish red with a low lying pinkish white foam head. Aroma: Strong clove phenols with a slight hint of cherry. Taste: Starts with a light wheat maltiness that builds into a sweet cherry pie flavor complete with browned crust and whipped cream. A touch of pear and tart spiciness on the swallow. Mouthfeel: Low to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Finish: Dry, tart cherry lingers with distinct pear popping up retronasally. Overall: An interesting take on a witbier, with the addition of cherry taking this in a completely different direction. This beer becomes a liquified version of cherry pie, with some pear and clove adding complexity. This would be a great dessert beer

Draft at Trio Mexican in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Looks like pink bubblegum and tastes pretty much the same. Good for a novelty drink.

Foggy, tarnished copper pour with a pinky foam. Slightly sour, almost belgian aroma. Sweetish, pleasant, non-artificial cherry pastry flavor. Modest bittering, yeasty, fruity aftertaste. .Effervescent, belgian finish. On tap, Momos.

Aggiebob (1096) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Draft. It poured a red grapefruit color with a nice frothy white head and fair lacing. Cherry aroma and cherry juice tartness in the taste. A very nice cherry wheat.
