Dark brown with a tannish head and stringy lacing. Yes! Just about the perfect example fo a US porter!. Chocolate and mocha comes out strong with coffee backing up the first impressions. There is a sweet milkiness, so much like chocolate milk. I’m so sorry the flavor cannot take after the nose. The bitterness comes out just a touch too much. The perfect balance of the nose is missing here with no chocolate or mocha. The body is thin and the palate is sharply bitter. This started out so well, but let me down so hard.

120z bottle, no BBD. Dark, opaque, some chunkies adrift. Poured with good head. Chocolate & roasty aroma, hint of smoke, even drinking, nice body...seems flat, but that doesn’t hurt it much, if at all. sweet malty hearty porter but seems too thin, expecially in the finish.

A porter to be experenced, perfect representation of the old world style porters. Doesn’t compare with the local minibrew porters, which have above average alcohol. A little sparkle is missing here, has the mouthfeel of a stout.

Dark rich brown with a mocha colored head. Clean carmel, smoke, chocolate, and more on the nose. Rich mouthfeel with a light drying finish. Coffee, choclate and some burnt toast on the palate. Yum, refreshing yet light enough to have more than one!

Very dark brown color, beautiful somewhat lasting head. Big coffee, slightly hoppy, slightly smokey aroma. Similar flavors, lots of coffee, bittersweet chocolate. Somewhat short in the finish. Definitely a favorite porter.

Dark black body, not much head. Smells a little roasty. Tastes pretty smooth and lacks the black malt bite, which makes it very drinable in quantity hehe

very dark beer, not too much head from what i had. chocolate and cocoa flavors, almost stoutlike, bust still crisp. ends smoothly and with slight sweet taste, avobe average beer, great porter.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2005 Rich chocolate coffee aroma, full chocolate coffee taste with roastedmalt and coffee aftertaste. As good of a porter as I’ve had, it does however resemble the Kalamazoo stout a lot, maybe slightly thinner

Ptch black brew, medium rocky head. Vinegar toasty nose. Biting bitter, also kind of smokey taste. Tarty too - wasn’t that convinced.

Deep and dark, almost opaque with a ruby glow that tries to come through at the edges. Big mocha whipped cream head. Aroma of roast malt and dark caramel. Wonderfully smooth and thick palate delivers loads of coffee and chocolate. Very nicely done Porter.
