Pours black, amber with a 2-finger pillowy tan head. Tastes of malt, cocoa & yeast oobawa (1496) - Tennessee, USA - APR 19, 2017
Good porter, dark and moderately bitter, strong mocha vibe backed by a firm roasted bitterness. Bright coffee notes on the back end prevent any lingering sweetness, and the fade offers up an unexpected modest floral hop streak. Nose is no great shakes, bland with a strange metallic undertone, yet the pint looks great, a deep dark brown with an off-white head and solid lacing. Texture flirts with being too thin, but the bitter finish leaves me okay with it. Seems like a fairly no-frills porter, not great but easy-drinking and enjoyable just the same. bdleedahl (462) - , Saskatchewan, CANADA - APR 18, 2017
Probably the quintessential example of an american porter. Just spot on for the style. However, that makes it not overly exciting either. barleymash SD tcon25 (865) - Duvall, Washington, USA - APR 17, 2017
Bottle pour at home, didn’t know I had this. Going through the stash and found this jem. Black pour thin head, soft roasted coffee. Flavor is a little creamy, coffee and chocolate not a barrel flavor but does have some smoke. Msdrbeat (780) - East Lansing, USA - APR 16, 2017
Bottled. Nutty and malty all the way through. Smooth with a nice balanced carbonation.

Very nice straight-ahead porter. Big chocolate and coffee taste and aroma with some smokey char. But drinks light enough to crave another. StoutBeerReviews (172) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 22, 2017
Very nice balance. smooooooooth as heck, interesting musty aromas which i enjoy. there definitely is a bit of smokeyness that comes thru on the back end, along with the typical roast and chocolate malts. ttoadee (1509) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 18, 2017
Draft at the draft shack. Dark pour, light just sneaking around the edges, small tan head. Nose is mild coffee grounds and dark malt . Middle is bittersweet coco, charred grain, medium hop bitterness. Finish is mediym bodied, with a long bitersweet sign off. rollinsr (774) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - MAR 15, 2017
Pours dark brown with only a rim of tan head. Aroma is heavy smoked malts with sweet toasted caramel and nutty notes. Flavor is smoky and nutty with milk chocolate character.

Lovely looking beer indeed! Dark mahogany brown body and a large creamy/foamy tan head.
Aroma is creamy, nutty and with hints of milk chocolate and medium roast coffee and cream.
Taste similar to aroma but a tad less creamy and with more bitter dark chocolate expression. Smokey roasty notes are there..but i think they diminish the beer for some reason.
Mouth feel is fine for style begins smooth but ends rather ragged unfortunately. But i guess the bitter smoke stops any hint of it being cloying.
A good porter but could have been way better..the looks and aroma made this look like a 4.3 beer.
