UPDATED: APR 10, 2017 Pours near black with hints of ruby when held to the light. Finger and a half of khaki creamy looking head that dissipates quickly.Scent is of chocolate and robust coffee with a hint of fruit. No unpleasant odors. Smells warm and inviting.Taste is moderately sweet with a good deal of roasty bitterness. Beer is medium bodied and creamy with a pleasant amount of carbonation and long bittersweet finish that reminds me of extra dark chocolate. This is an outstanding beer. If you are into the darkside and havenít had Bellís Porter then you are missing out. I highly recommend this brew.

Bottle thanks to wombat23. Pours very dark brown and leaves a creamy, tan head. Aroma is chocolate, cow dung(!), a bit of smoke, roasted grainy notes. Taste is nice: lightly sweet up front, smoky, turning both sour and evincing a roasted coffee bitterness going into the finish. Body is medium with a mild carbonation. Overall not bad, apart from that odd fecal note.

Ricas maltas tostadas, chocolate y toque ligeramente ahumado. Postgusto claro a chocolate. Bien rica.

Pours a dark brown with a thick creamy tan head that left some nice lacing around the glass. The aroma is of coffee, chocolate, and brown bread. The flavor is more of the same.

Pours black, amber with a 2-finger pillowy tan head. Tastes of malt, cocoa & yeast

Good porter, dark and moderately bitter, strong mocha vibe backed by a firm roasted bitterness. Bright coffee notes on the back end prevent any lingering sweetness, and the fade offers up an unexpected modest floral hop streak. Nose is no great shakes, bland with a strange metallic undertone, yet the pint looks great, a deep dark brown with an off-white head and solid lacing. Texture flirts with being too thin, but the bitter finish leaves me okay with it. Seems like a fairly no-frills porter, not great but easy-drinking and enjoyable just the same.

Probably the quintessential example of an american porter. Just spot on for the style. However, that makes it not overly exciting either. barleymash SD

Bottle pour at home, didnít know I had this. Going through the stash and found this jem. Black pour thin head, soft roasted coffee. Flavor is a little creamy, coffee and chocolate not a barrel flavor but does have some smoke.

Bottled. Nutty and malty all the way through. Smooth with a nice balanced carbonation.

Very nice straight-ahead porter. Big chocolate and coffee taste and aroma with some smokey char. But drinks light enough to crave another.
