A dark ale for all occasions. A blend of dark malt gives this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with some smokey roasted notes.

Nearly opaque dark brown body with a lasting tan head. Aroma of chicolate, coffee and cream, and a touch of smoke. Medium palate with a surprising amount of carbonation. Big malty flavor with the chocolate and coffee evident right away. Smooth finish with a slightly bitter coffee aftertaste. A delicious porter.

Poured nice. Low carbonation and not that exciting with taste. Average Porter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Black color, tanned head. Aroma has roasted malts, some vanilla, some coffee. Nice roasted malty taste, coffee, some vanilla. Nice full bodied porter.

Drank a six pack of this yesterday for Christmas. Dark brew with a very thick head that smells and tastes like a porter should. While nothing really notable to set this one apart from other porters it was a great beer for the holiday.

My favorite nonlocal porter by reasonable margin -- this is from notes and experience. Pours almost pitch black in color, quite opaque in glass, light tan head, laces well. Average body with clean texture is not as thick as a porter could be, but smell and taste are spot on -- nice roasty malty notes, kind of an earthy dark character and mild sweetness and offset well with an interesting hop bitterness. Easy to find and in the usual price band.

Very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt: coffee, toast, chocolate. Similar flavors follow on the palate. Moderate bitterness with a medium length finish.

Fron notes. As a Porter I am expecting it to be more roasty and thinner bodied than the stout. It pours a dark cola black with a filmy tan head and a big roasty chocolate savoury aroma. Yep, medium to light bodied with a dry finish. Roasty, chocolate, licorice (very very mild) and savoury umami type flavors. This is a really nice robust Porter.

Pours motor oil black. Creamy coffee head with excellent lacing. Aroma of coffee and wet leather. Bitter coffee and wet grass taste. Ewwwww.

Dark brown with a thin, light tan head and a milk chocolate, malty nose. Malty with a bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit, dry, espresso finish.

Probably a great porter by style alignment. I like to push the envelope, but this feels good tonight. And if it is winning awards, who am I to dissent? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12floz bottle, BOD: 04.17.2017, $1.75 single, pint glass. Dark brown in color, which with a vigorous pour presents a sustained large tan head that leaves splotchy markings. Malty nose is fairly mild with essences of residual sugars and toasted bread crumbs. Mildly roasted flavor character can be described as nutty, and with further imagination heavily brown laden mashed potatoes. Adequately good for the style, and as a beer for that matter.
