On tap 7/13/09 at the Eccentric Cafe. Pours a darkish red with a white/pink head. Nose is a snoot full of fresh picked raspberries. Flavor follows suit, with a bit of sour and a nice tart to it. Excellent fruit beer. jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - JUL 27, 2013
Not overly sweet but still tons of raspberry flavor and some cereal notes in the finish. Very clean and crisp.

I feel like PsychProf. On tap Eccentric day 2003. rating 301. Nice tasting ale but I thought it tasted much more like cherries than it did like raspberries. Very tart and a lot of carbonation. Nice beer though. It smelled of raspberries and was a very nice drink. It poured with a nice white head and was extremely tart after testing the Eccentric Ale. Nice change of pace though. On tap at the Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo. I can’t say I’ve experienced a beer that had an aroma so different from the taste, but actually do work well together in this one. The fruit aspect of this fruit beer is not overpowering, which is nice, as there’s a good moderate raspberry fruit in the flavor, but this does not come out so much in the aroma which consists more of funky cheese, olives, and just a light sweet fruit. The appearance really looked like cranberry, and not so much like, which isn’t too surprising. Also, a good wild yeast to go with the sweet raspberry. I liked it, but it’s not my favorite. A nice foray in the fruit beer category for Bell's -- although, with the Eccentric, they might have done that long ago. Nice haziness and some amber over tones. Vibrant tartness (agree with others that the flavor did often come off as "cherry"). This beer would be wonderful in the summer, but was a little like a fish out of water in the middle of winter.

Had this as part of a beer dinner. Served in a small snifter type glass from tap. Nice slightly red color, no foam with a whitish ring. There may have been foam when it was poured but not when I received it. The smell is fresh raspberries and a little hops. The taste is almost the same. Tart fresh raspberries and maybe a bit of hops. Light palate with a good bit of carbonation. Overall this is good but more sour/tart than I prefer.

750 ml bottle. Pours a brilliant, clear red color, promising a lot of raspberry taste. It has a nice complimentary white ring of head. Aroma is definatly of raspberry, with a disconcerting sour note. A sweeter taste is expected (similar to a lambic) but there is little of it. Some sweetness would have brought out the raspberry. GTown (127) - New York, USA - JAN 5, 2007
Pours bright red with small white head that quickly disapates. Minimal lacing. Aroma is fresh rasberries (at least I have to assume fresh as it rates as the most expensive draught at Eccentric/$5.25 for a 20 oz.). Flavor is too one dimensional. One was more than enough. earthgirl99 (25) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 23, 2002
Very pretty appearance. Aroma is almost dance-recital cutesy. This is definitely a fruity beer. It’s not as artificial a taste and aroma as the lotion from those bath stores at the mall, but I’d still rather have my organic raspberries NEXT TO my beer than in it. I guess it’s not bad as fruit beers go.
