COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Substantial amounts of late-kettle hop additions and dry-hopping yields a heady blend of fruity aromas of pineapple, peach and citrus. Those aromas continue into a crisply bitter hop presence across the tongue, but the judicious use of toasted and caramel specialty malts prevents the hop intensity from overwhelming the palate. Locally sourced Michigan honey creates a smooth, dry finish that pulls everything together. The India Red Ale style is a variation on the IPA, but with more caramel and toasted malt character and a reddish hue. Roundhouse was first brewed at our original brewery in downtown Kalamazoo in 2009.

Aromas are hoppy with pine and citrus flavors, though a bit muddy and hard to tease out more specific flavors. Also some mild caramel malt flavors.

A large off-white head; amber color, perhaps with a slight haze.

Taste is mildly sweet and fairly bitter.

Medium body; average carbonation; oily texture; medium length finish that starts fruity and slightly sweet and ends with carbonation and hop bitterness.

Overall a pretty good beer; I like the balance of the slight sweetness and the hops, though the hop flavors seem a bit indistinct and muddy.

(Can) Cloudy copper body with a medium light-beige, foamy head that leaves a thin layer of lace around the glass. Aroma is floral and citrus-fruity; moderately sweet and bitter hops notes; some bubblegum, toasted grain, herbs. Medium bodied (but on the full side). Flavor is more mild than the aroma: roasted malt, some honey and spices, grass; pretty mellow but very quaffable.

A little malt and rust. Light pine but not much else. Reddish brown pour with ok head. Light bitter finish. Matched well with spicy Laotian food like a cheap tuktuk ride. Tap at Khao Thip.

can - Amber pour. Hoppy aroma of pine and citrus with caramel malt. The flavor is nice and bitter with resin, citrus, and toasted caramel malt. Avoids the cough syrup taste I get from some red IPAs. Very tasty overall.

Taste: crisp, pineapple fruit, caramel malt, slight hop to clean finish. Same with the nose. Mahogany/Red hue, semi clear, delicate lace to smaller head. Medium body. Balance for most part, maybe a bit on the sweet side.

(Draught) Pours a clear orange body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel, and canned pineapple. Flavor of florals, caramel, earth, toasted grain, and honey with a moderately dry finish.

This one wins my seal of approval: superbly executed Red Ale variant. The Roundhouse is well balanced with just enough sweetness imparted by the honey addition to take the edge off. 12oz can

A little scent of fruity. Sweetness and little fruity. Small bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth to a weak moment. No good beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Draft. Amber/orange body with a frothy off-white (red-tinted) head. Enticing aroma of citrus, orange juice, grapefruit, raspberry, toasted grain, pineapple, bread. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Sweet, fruit taste to start, light lingering bitterness to finish. Clean and different. Enjoyable.

12 oz can from Growlers to Go, Short Pump, VA The ale poured a clear amber color with an off white head and lacing. The aroma of caramel malts is quickly detected. Nice ale. The higher ABV adds to the overall experience. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. The taste has some complex grapefruit and spices. The honey helps to smooth out the edges, The finish has some pine resin in the upper mouth
