COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Substantial amounts of late-kettle hop additions and dry-hopping yields a heady blend of fruity aromas of pineapple, peach and citrus. Those aromas continue into a crisply bitter hop presence across the tongue, but the judicious use of toasted and caramel specialty malts prevents the hop intensity from overwhelming the palate. Locally sourced Michigan honey creates a smooth, dry finish that pulls everything together. The India Red Ale style is a variation on the IPA, but with more caramel and toasted malt character and a reddish hue. Roundhouse was first brewed at our original brewery in downtown Kalamazoo in 2009.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a bright clear amber color with a nice thick white head that lingered. Very piney hop aroma with some flowers, tropical fruit and caramel malt. Taste is great. Fresh pine and tropical fruit taste, great caramel malt backbone. Awesome IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour from a 12z can. Deep reddish amber brew with great persistent head. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and tropical fruit. Taste is notable malt up front, great hoppy flourish emerging in the middle and toward the end. Ends dry but smooth, you can taste the honey a few seconds after the swallow. Hops are crisp - cirtus, a little fruit and floral. A nicely balanced brew with strong malt backbone that retains a lively and agile hops profile. Should have picked up some of this sooner.

Note: Iím sick with comprised senses at the time of this rating. Musk melon, mango, dirty sweet malt, pomegranate, and a mix of citrus makeup the nose. Deep copper moderately red, off-clear, thin tan non-lasting toast head. Flavors reflect aroma with solid malt backbone showing through, less tropical than nose. Palate is perfect with a medium-medium light mouthfeel with lingering finish thatís dry and bitter but not fatiguing at all. All over very good beer, looking forward to it when I can enjoy it fully.

Hazy, brownish-red pour with a white head. The aroma has sugary caramel and citrus hops. It has a medium body with oily texture and lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a long finish.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2017 On tap at Lucille in Madison. A pungent hop bouquet of floral hops and caramel malt. Floral, pine hops in flavor. Malts get sweeter and more pronounced as it warms. Not sure how honey is supposed to make something dry...

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours dark and ruddy - arguably copper with a beige head. Aroma is lots of fruit, and pineapple comes through as the inhale ends. Med body. Flavor is very pineapple with pale stone fruit and a touch of citrus. There is malt, and there seems to be that chocolate note I often seem to think I find in "ambers". Too much fruit for really dry, but thereís enough fruit hop to work that out and provide a nice level of bitter. Hard to believe this beer was born in 2009. Pretty good stuff.

Reddish brown, with a sizey white head. Smells like caramel and pine, with some herbal notes. Taste is a bit drier than I was expecting, but still pretty sweet. Caramel and molasses up front and piney hops in the finish.

Can. Pours a lovely amber red with creamy beige head thatís frothy as hell. I had a bad cold so this may have smelled better than I rated it. Smooth palate. I usually donít care for honey but this time it tempered the ample hops. The drinkability of this is through the freaking roof.
