COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Cafť. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.

From bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with decent head that fades. Aroma was rye, bread and fruity hops. Taste followed with pleasant tones of rye but not bitter, grapefruit and fresh bread. Get spring time beer!

Bottle: Orange pour with two fingers of fluffy beige head, some swirling particles. Nose is lightly citrus, a little malt, and florals. Flavor profile is hoppier than expected (florals) and the citrus blends well with the rye. Refreshing.

On tap at Busters on 28th, pale golden color, thin white head. Aromas of earthiness and a bit of sweet wheat. Taste is just a rather bland wheat flavor, drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle through trade with JStax poured into a shaker. Pours translucent deep golden with a lot of suspended yeast and small white head. Medium small bubble lacing, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and nice citrus aroma. Taste is bitter citrus, some earth, and resinous hop finish. Not for me.

12oz bottle. Golden orange color. Aroma of citrus blossoms, hops, and spicy grains. Tastes like an American Pale Ale. Nice caramel grains, citrusy hops, hint of rye tingle on the tongue. Finishes with a sharp bitterness. A very nice APA. (3671)

On draft @ Bells. Pours a light orange with white head. Aroma is citrus hops. The rye really stands out in this one, mixed in with some citrus and bitterness. A pretty easy drinking brew.

Bottle--cloudy gold color with a medium head that dissipates into lacing on the side of the glass. Citrus, flowers and hops hit the nose as soon as the pour is finished. Some bitterness in the beginning from the hops, then some sweetness takes over. Medium bitter finish with a hop aftertaste. Produce place.
