COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Café. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.

Aromas of rustic grain and spruce hops. The rye rusticness is lighter than in most other rye beers I’ve had. Color is a medium amber, with a clear body and an average sized off-white head. Sweetness is pretty light; bitterness is moderate to heavy. Body is medium; carbonation is average to slightly lively; Fairly long rustic rye finish. There is a pretty crisp clean texture that I like; the rye and hops add some interest. Overall a pretty good beer.

Nice medium golden-amber color with a pleasant floral aroma. This medium-bodied pale ale is nicely balanced and has a distinctive sharp, dry finish - almost parching. It displays the rye malt quite well.

Bottle gift from Bloomy. Nice notes of rye, honey, dough and hop. The body is a little thin for my taste, but it’s a solid brew from a solid brewery. 92 beers to go until retirement or death, which ever comes first.
