mcberko (18930) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 28, 2016
On tap at Bailey’s, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a good mix of roast and light smoke. Flavour is quite smoky and ashy, with lots of campfire notes. For what it is, it’s well-done. But not a big fan of this. Smoke bomb. Decent.

Draft - Smoke and dark roast. Jet black with a decent brown head. Tons of rich smoke and peat with some roast. Lots of smoke, not for the feint of heart.

Tmoney99 (14952) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 1, 2012
Draft. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate smoke sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium complex sweet smoke flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectation where met.

Dogbrick (13751) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 8, 2008
Sample at the Bell’s tasting at Brews Cafe on 3/6/08: The beer pours a dark brown color with a thin beige head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Moderately smoky aroma with notes of roasted grain and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with a smoke character that never threatens to get into meat/charcoal territory. Notes of milk chocolate, coffee and mild hops flavors. The finish is fry and moderatley bitter with hops and smoke in the aftertaste. Seems more like a Smoked Porter along the lines of Alaskan. Still a decent beer.

(Draught) Pours a dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, light smoke, roastiness, and chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, and toasted grain with a bitter coffee finish.

deyholla (12205) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours black with dark brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice combo of dark grain and smoke with backing roasted malts. Flavor has a nice balance of smoke and roasted malts with a bit of chocolate.

Tap @ Bells. Black appearance with a tan head. Moderate smoky, rich dark chocolate malty, light espresso aroma. Delicious full bodied, moderately smoky, dark chocolate, light coffee, light vanilla flavor. Great beer.

arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 31, 2014
Pour on tap, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of caramel, molasses, slight smoke into a bit of earth, roasted malts, slight coffee. Taste is a mix of cocoa, roast, slight coffee bean into toasted bread, smoke, slight yeast, finishing bitter, dry.

b3shine (9138) - Indiana, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Draft to taster. Looks fine; a little thin though. Smells good; malty and rosary. Tastes good too; much like it smells with some smoke and good balance. Nice on the palate too. One of the more enjoyable smoked beers I’ve tried.
