Black with tan head. Malty aroma with slight chocolate. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is malty, chocolate/coffee and mild. Dry finish. This beer got better upon the second and third tastings. lethe (177) - New York, USA - FEB 28, 2006
Pours deep brown with minimal off-white head. Nose is sweet, slight roast, but mostly shades of chocolate. Palate is medium, sticky and tantalizing. Flavor is creamy sweet that becomes bitter chocolate and lasts in this direction. Definitely not a single note sweet stout. This is enjoyable in its depth, but also relatively simple and session-worthy. JBoan (176) - Arizona, USA - SEP 25, 2013

Bottle. 12 fl. oz. Black beer with brown head. Aroma of creamy fudge. Light carbonation, medium to full bodied, and a slick texture. Sweet chocolatey flavor with some roasted coffee bean that was not as apparent in the aroma. A nice after-dinner brew. rhapsouldize (174) - Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 11, 2004
Opaque ebony body with a medium brown foamy head. Aroma of chocolate and sweet roasted mocha. Creamy and medium-bodied. When I bought this, I thought that it would be too malty, as they use ten different kinds of malt, but it’s actually very well balanced. Not as good as the Java Stout, but definitely delicious nonetheless. Got Stout? (173) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2005
I am in love with this beer. Typical malty / roasty aroma that is fitting for a Stout. But the drink! Holy Almighty Roast! Bang, like a bag of roasted coffee beans was just thrown in your general direction at a high rate of speed with the intention to take your head off. Super, super burnt carmel and toffee. Then, just as quckly as it came, the flavor dissapears into a mildly roasted flavor of... Graham Crackers? Good stuff! coharahawk (170) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 13, 2009
Pours very dark brown with a bubbly tan head that fades rather quickly. Aroma is very chocolately and reminds of hershey syrup with some roastiness as well. Flavor is dark chocolate with roasted malts and coffee and some lactose. Very smooth mouthfeel but slightly thinner than expected. Very easy to drink.
