nice and dark, great hint of chocolate flavor, much in the vein of the kzoo stout, but smoother, sweeter, creamier NachlamSie (3483) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 28, 2006
bottle. Pours a super deep red with a dark tan head that slowly fades away. The nose is thick and almost wheaty with sweet chocolate undertones and a bit of coffee. Wow! Gets better upon tasting. The coffee-esque bitterness is very appropriate against the creamy sweet malts. The finish brings out a little of that faintly vegetal note I’ve noticed in their rye stout and more predominantly in their porter, but it’s not bad, I probably only noticed it because I was specifically weary of it after the porter. A minute or two after taking a sip, milk chocolate flavor really takes over. Great sweet stout that doesn’t go so far as to become cloying. ABUSEDGOAT (2759) - California, USA - MAY 20, 2006
Black body, small tan head. Aroma is roast, chocolate and caramel. Roasted flavor is there but not dominating. Smooth mouthfeel. Tasty, but flavors could be better. Seemed relatively light bodied. dhlesq (233) - Thousand Oaks, California, USA - AUG 29, 2006
Overpowering aroma of black olives - interesting and different but not necessarily in a good way. Appears an opaque black color with a small dark brown head that dissipates quickly. Flavor of chocolate with some roast notes and with a bit of a salty impression - superbly balanced. Palate is thick and creamy, almost velvety. Overall, another excellent offering from Bells, though the aroma is a bit off-putting. black95tt (82) - Doylestown, Ohio, USA - OCT 12, 2006
Pours an almost black color. Very nice looking in the glass. Very little head. Aroma is bittersweet bakers chocolate with roast and caramel following. This beer goes down so nice. Very velvety and smooth. Flavor is dominated by sweet roast and caramel. Very little bitterness and no alcohol present. I really enjoy this beer.

Bottle. Black bodied with a small tan head. Nose is roasted malts, light coffee and dark, bittersweet chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate, oily coffee, and roasted malts with a touch of burnt cookie. Body is creamy and smooth with a dense carbonation and a medium overall feel. It just slides down easy. Finishes with more roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. Nice stuff! mephisto (1288) - TAIWAN - DEC 25, 2006
a solid chocolate stout, pitch black with a dark brown head that quickly disappears, the brew is creamy and rich. it is very chocolatey with a hint of coffee and caramel, i really enjoy this brew. Holdwine (1232) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 28, 2006
Again with the motor oil, but what a stout. Maybe over ice cream? Complex mouthfeel and a ton of sweetness. Vanilla, coffee, whipped cream, this one has it all. mstockton (225) - Frankfurt, GERMANY - APR 15, 2007
A nice, chocolate head on this stout that calms down after the pour. Tried it at Crunchy’s in E. Lansing, MI on draft. Strong, sweet stout with a little bit of a coffe and chocolate flavor. Very good, but I like the Kalamazoo stout better. This might give me a headache if I had a few due to the sweetness. cmr1517 (35) - New Haven, Indiana, USA - MAY 16, 2007
Firs t beer ever rated! Has a coffe/nutty aroma. Initial bitter taste but becomes sweet and smooth. Good Stuff!
