Pours an almost black color. Very nice looking in the glass. Very little head. Aroma is bittersweet bakers chocolate with roast and caramel following. This beer goes down so nice. Very velvety and smooth. Flavor is dominated by sweet roast and caramel. Very little bitterness and no alcohol present. I really enjoy this beer.

A nice, chocolate head on this stout that calms down after the pour. Tried it at Crunchyís in E. Lansing, MI on draft. Strong, sweet stout with a little bit of a coffe and chocolate flavor. Very good, but I like the Kalamazoo stout better. This might give me a headache if I had a few due to the sweetness.

Bottle. Pours dark, dark brown... almost black. Nice nose: roasted malt, coffee, vanilla sweetness. Creamy with a hint of carbonation on the palate. Flavor-wise, we get notes of roasted sweet malt, coffee and smoke. Quite drinkable.

Pours like iodine w/ a medium sized, creamy froth. Head retention is good and reduces slowly to a full canopy and a fluffy ring. Aroma is weak w/ mildly roasted, creamy malts. Full nectar w/ creamy residual effers. Mildy roasted w/ a balanced sweet and creamy malt backbone. Not real complex but very drinkable. Theres a slight souring that takes place mid-palate. The finish is long w/ a mild souring.

very dark colour, has a bit of a roast toffee aroma, fairly smooth body, seems to have a hint of chocolate in it.

Black beer with dark amber-beige head. Chocolate, and dried wine or brandy barrels; sweet, near-fruity. Dark-brown sugar aroma. Sweet, coffee & cacaopowder; roasted finish, breadcrust. Retronasal like unsweetened cocoacream. Quite velvety MF, despite lively carbonation. Medium bodied, slick. Sweet, but warming stout, nice. Once more thanks to DaveDave

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2009 Bottle thanks to miketd. Poured a deep brown/black color with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Begins super smooth and leads into flavor that matches the aroma. Hints of cocoa in the finish. Very creamy and easy to drink. I wish I had a few more to enjoy on Christmas by the fire, because for some reason that is what this reminds me of. Big thanks to Mike for hooking me up with thus beer.
