4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle, thanks to GT2: pours a clear bright golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a big fresh resinous hoppy nose with some sweet toasty caramel undertones. Starts with good fullness and lightly chewy sweet malts well balanced with lots of fresh piny hops and bitterness before a drier slightly warming finish. Deceptively drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sold on a single bottle allocation at Greenís. Poured a clear amber with a nice white head. Fresh resiny hop aroma, lots of caramel, toasted malt, light citrus and some heat. Flavors were slightly bitter with notes of toasted caramel, resiny hops, citrus and cake. Mouthfeel was medium to full. Actually well balanced for being so big, warming, bitter finish. Long lasting. Not too shabby, like a big hoppy barley wine. I dug it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. thanks to chris for handing these out like i was trickortreatin... pours darker than what i would have expected with a deeper amber slightly coppery feel, mostly transparent, and topped with a quickly retreating soapy white head... aroma isnít all that assertive, bready rye like malts to go along with a semi-assertive but almost generic like tropical fruit hop. somewhat sweet. doesnít pop like some of the hoppy brews of late... flavors are more of the same with a fairly substantial darker bready malt profile with a bigger hop profile, albeit not too bright or distinguished. a little tropical fruit, a bit phenolic, a bit bitter in the finish. sweeter through the middle. it just doesnít come together all that well or all that cleanly. bigger bodied and somewhat strengthy overall. one and done for me on this one.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Mark. Pours an amber to dark golden color with mid-range tan head. Aroma is lacking to say put it nicely, overly malty, grain, faded DIPA to say it harshly. Taste is at first a way over the hill DIPA, then fades into an overly bitter hop profile with some resin hop built up. Malt again comes back and finally you are left with a ton of heat. Not sure what the hell style this is but it is all over the place and certainly not a traditional DIPA.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Amber color, big off white head. Huge floral and tropical aroma. Flavor is sweet with big tropical hop flavor, really nice. Body is a bit thick, good carbonation. Bells hit the jackpot with this one, really nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I can see why people love this, I can see why people hate this. Similar to a 1.5 month old hopslam in the hop profile. Malty, mildly sweet, good carbonation. Juicy hops. Lots of caramel. A bit faded hop character. Basically a good American barley wine, a terrible IPA, and a fantastic double red ale. Hmmmm.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
FH IPA Fest 2012, had to give this some plus and minuses, the smell is wonderful and the taste is very smooth but the thickness of this coupled with a dominant syrupy hop feel detracts from what could be awesome.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer is an imperial amber to commemorate Bellís 11,000th batch with the name being a reference to the movie Spinal Tap.Good looking imperial amber. The nose is big and complex. Plenty of sweet malt, some cherry, a slight oakiness, some onion (Warrior hops?), and a touch of alcohol. The flavors too, big and malty. Flavors are sweet and slightly fruity, again with the sweet cherry character. As you continue to drink the hoppiness increases and the alcohol presence lessens, increasingly drinkability. Overall I thought this was a really nice imperial amber.

Bottle courtesy of GT. Pours clear, red tinted brown with a light tan head. Lots of hops on the nose - pine, citrus. A bit of honey as well. Flavor is very sweet and peppery. Lots of hops and bitterness. Very heavy finish.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nearly clear, red-amber, with a short, light tan head.
Scent is sweetly tropical, fruit cocktail cherries,...pine resin.
Taste is a warm, alcohol-backed earth hop and fruit mix.
Quite sweet...very complex and rich...
A slow-sipper, for certain.
