12oz bottle pours a bright clear amber with a medium khaki head. Aroma is very fruity, mango, candied pineapple, caramel malts, with some hops and slight alcohol. Taste has deep bright fruits throughout and a toasted caramel malt backbone. At first it is pretty boozy, as it warms it starts to give way to resinous bitter hops. A little hot but a very tasty DIPA. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 3, 2012
12oz bottle shared . Pours orangish red with off white head. The aroma is a punch you in the face hop explosion. The oozing of the piny resinous hops hang from the glass. The flavor is a strong blend of many hops. Hard to discern which one is which. But are they balanced so nicely. On the back end you get a smooth alcohol burn but it is mild for 11 percent. b3shine (8877) - Indiana, USA - OCT 4, 2012
Bottle to snifter. Looks good; a semi-transparent copper with off-white lacing. Smells goog too; HOPPY with a nice malt backbone. Tastes tastes like it smells, but a little hot and boozy. Average on the palate. Will probably revisit in a month or two. mikem409 (2027) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - OCT 5, 2012
bottle. pours dark clear orange with a pleasent off white head. big piney aroma. taste is very hop forward with some berry like sweetness coming in FunkyBrewster (1518) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 6, 2012
12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep orange copper color with a small off white froth. Aroma is mostly piney, some definitely malt base, sweet and bready with a slight cake note, some citric fruits coming out as well, marmalade and sweet orange. Flavor has a bit of oxidation, but with the malt backbone it gives sort of a barleywine character to it, whoa just noticed its 11 percent, really easy drinking for that abv. picking up some of the tropical character, and piney resinous hops, still with that sweet malt. Medium to medium full body and a crisp carbonation. Interesting beer.

12 ounce. Taste is sweet and malty. Big hoppy aroma. Some nice bitterness in the aroma. But then the taste goes orange sweet. I just want that sweet toned back a bit. But a nice double or red ale, however you want to call it. BelgianBeerGal (4067) - Panama City, Florida, USA - OCT 6, 2012
Draft sample at Big Beers. So I guess this is the undercover contiuation of the batch series. Pretty tasty over all. Nice sweet malt to balance the big bitterness. Bjshades (156) - Iowa, USA - OCT 6, 2012
Pours an amber color, pine citrus and hops hit me all at once. Good beer overall mixmasterob (1057) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 10, 2012
Sold on a single bottle allocation at Green’s. Poured a clear amber with a nice white head. Fresh resiny hop aroma, lots of caramel, toasted malt, light citrus and some heat. Flavors were slightly bitter with notes of toasted caramel, resiny hops, citrus and cake. Mouthfeel was medium to full. Actually well balanced for being so big, warming, bitter finish. Long lasting. Not too shabby, like a big hoppy barley wine. I dug it. Tmoney99 (14497) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 11, 2012
Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured a clear copper color with large frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate heavy complex hop aroma with a citra tone. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer and very good double IPA.
