An unclear brown beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is of roasted malt and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of prunes, wood, and over ripe fruit. The end is dry, but the body is thin.

Crackerlike, brown bread aroma. Well, when I get to the taste itself itís like brown bread crust. Not from your 7-Eleven loaf, I mean from the good stuff down at the expensive bakery that you only buy when you have guests over. Lightish body, pretty typical stout flavours, no shortage of hops. I have to be honest, I was more concerned with how well this was working with the Pink Floyd than I was with the beer itself.

Draft sample at MBGWF 2011. Poured black color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good roasted coffee malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture with flat carbonation. Moderate toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable dry stout.

This exceptionally dry Stout pours a dark mahogany color with a thin but dense beige head and thin lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and roasted nuts. Flavors of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted grain/nuts and a little malt. The finish is a little thin, especially for a Bell's Stout and is mostly coffee. Still another good Stout from Bell's.

Rating #1,600. 12oz bottle acquired in trade with robertsreality (thanks!). Poured a dark and cloudy brown color with a large sized tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, wood, and coffee. Tastes of roast, chocolate, and some coffee. Flavors on the weaker side compared to the aromas. A very, very light sourness to it. Thinner body.

Bottled: Brown/red coloured. Light brown head. Light roast, sweets, berries and coffee in the aroma. Flavour is roasted, hoppy, has light cocoa and coffee notes. Medium body. Is fruity and coffeish in the end. This a light challenging beer. I quite like it.

Interesting! Not a very dark stout. Burnt orange in color. Small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Decent lacing. The aroma is of coffee and earth with a touch of chocolate and brown sugar/cinnamon thrown in. Perfectly balanced flavor. Heavy with coffee and American White Oak. Medium-bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Coffee-heavy, lightly bitter finish. Nice brew!
