4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Iíd heard a lot of positive buzz about this beer before trying it for the first time. Now, in my part of the world at least, it seems like it occupies sort of a gold standard of craft beer (IPAs at least). Appearance is amber and cloudy. Gead sticks around, and around. This particular example was still sitting around even after the glass was empty. Aroma is definitely hoppy, and a bit sweet. Flavor is hops plus citrus and very pleasant. And after, you get those great hop-flavored burps! Iíve had it before, and Iíll be having it again.

12 oz. Bottle. Beautiful white, lacey head and a hazy, golden color. Strong aroma of citrus, even when nose is feet away from the glass. Noted stong pine aroma when nose was closer to the beer. Flavor was dry and hoppy, with grapefruit notes. Nice long finish on this beer. Glad I have five more to drink.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Stumbled on this at a good restaurant in Akron. This is one great IPA. Great hop aroma and a nice crisp taste. Not over the top and not too pine resin-like. A little different that some of my other favorite IPAs. A little smoother to drink.

12-oz., thanks to MTDSHN--thanks, Mike, this stuff is incredible! Pours the cloudy amber with the moussy white head. Lots of floral/orange/sherbet hops on the nose. Creamy body. Good chew to the mouthfeel; pleasantly high-moderate carb. Lots of citrus (orange, a little lemon, slight grapefruit) through the palate. Grea thop variety and a nice sweet easy drinking malt backbone. 6 ounces into the first one, itís obvious that this is one of the great session beers of all time. Not to mention probably the greatest label--no shilly shallying around, just a great image and the name.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a nice deep golden brown with little head or lacing. Aromas of hop, sugar, quite a bit of spice (cinnamon). Flavor is fairly sweet with a good hop background that leaves a somewhat drying aftertaste. An excellent IPA and a good example without overdoing it in the hops.

Pours a hazy light orange color with thin white head. Good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, hops, grass. Full balanced flavor with a citrus hop punch, mostly grapefruit, with a nice hop bitterness. Nice malt background to give it an even sweetness and round out a really fine IPA. Very drinkable.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
This is the way that an American IPA should be. Has a great hoppy taste, almost a candied citrus fruit taste. The head is a creamy chewy white. The nearly perfect American IPA!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 18, 2008 Bottle. Strong hoppy grapefruit aroma, clean, fresh, and yes, oily. Hazy orange pour with light visicarb and a bubbly/fluffy and lacing beige head. Very crisp, extremely dry taste. Grapefruit and citrus, hop overload, woody, medium-full soft body. Chewy, spicy malt. Floral sweetness and a little mouth-puckering tang. Grapefruit lingers long into the aftertaste. Straightforward, but very, very flavorful and well crafted - flawless, even. Has sort of a playful lightness to match its elegant sophistication. Refreshing! [3.8]
Pretty much the go-to summer IPA in Bellís distribution area - lovably dry and bitter, enough citrus to quench and call me back for more. And a great bang for the buck. [4.0]
