buckybeer (666) - Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 2, 2006
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2008 Pours a medium amber with average sized head. Aroma is big on the floral and also a tad of citrus. Flavor is great. Hoppy citrus with some piney floral in the background. Just a little bitter finish (which isnt bad). Such a well rounded (solid) brew. Always seems to be in my fridge. asteele8 (322) - Des Moines, Washington, USA - NOV 1, 2006
Bottle. Pours a hazy light copper color with a nice foamy off-white head on top. Hops and grapefruit dominate the aroma of the beer. Hints of sweet malts such as caramel and toffee are in the aroma as well. Hops hit the tongue on first sip. A grapefruit/citrusy hop taste that starts with a bitterness. The middle part of the taste is caramel and toffee bringing out the malt backbone of this beer. The finish is sweet at first and ends with bitterness shortly after the beer as been swallowed fully. Another great beer out of the Midwest! mddawso (89) - Normal, Illinois, USA - OCT 31, 2006
Bottle- Wow, this beer is good. Standard amber, gold head with citrus aroma. Drinks easily. Tastes smoothly of hops, while still maintaing a malt balance. Metalhead (644) - Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA - OCT 29, 2006
I can’t believe I haven’t rated this since I’ve been drinking it for a couple years.Golden pour, decent lasting head. Aroma is pineyhops and grapfruit. Decent lacing. Tastes pretty much how it smells with a great body and mouthfeel. Too bad they are pulling out of IL for a spell. Should have stocked up on this. punkrkr27 (903) - Berkley, Michigan, USA - OCT 28, 2006
Slightly hazy gold pour with a small foamy off-white head. Strong caramel malt aroma with a pronounced note of grapefruit and other citrus fruits. Lots of piney, grapefruit hop flavor with a solid caramel malt background. Nice creamy medium body.

I’d heard a lot of positive buzz about this beer before trying it for the first time. Now, in my part of the world at least, it seems like it occupies sort of a gold standard of craft beer (IPAs at least). Appearance is amber and cloudy. Gead sticks around, and around. This particular example was still sitting around even after the glass was empty. Aroma is definitely hoppy, and a bit sweet. Flavor is hops plus citrus and very pleasant. And after, you get those great hop-flavored burps! I’ve had it before, and I’ll be having it again. brauen (25) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - OCT 24, 2006

12 oz. Bottle. Beautiful white, lacey head and a hazy, golden color. Strong aroma of citrus, even when nose is feet away from the glass. Noted stong pine aroma when nose was closer to the beer. Flavor was dry and hoppy, with grapefruit notes. Nice long finish on this beer. Glad I have five more to drink. doubleipa (224) - Georgia, USA - OCT 23, 2006
Stumbled on this at a good restaurant in Akron. This is one great IPA. Great hop aroma and a nice crisp taste. Not over the top and not too pine resin-like. A little different that some of my other favorite IPAs. A little smoother to drink.
