UPDATED: SEP 18, 2013 Pours clear straw golden with medium fluffy white head. Aroma is big floral and citrus hops with a hint of bready malt. Taste is floral and grassy hops upfront with some sweet bready malt on the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering bitter citrus hop notes. Palate is medium with some stickiness. Overall an excellent IPA with great balance with big hop flavor offset by nice touches of malt. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - JUN 12, 2006
Batch 7245. Pours a slighty hazy golden amber with an average foamy off white head that left some lacing. Excellent floral and citrus hop aroma with just about the right caramel malt balance for what I look for in a great IPA aroma. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, slight malt sweetness along with a medium hop bitterness. One of the better IPA’s I’ve had for sure. BeerandBlues2 (13695) - Escondido, California, USA - JUN 11, 2006
12-oz. bottle, Batch 7237 from tjthresh. Pours a slightly cloudy bronze, brass with a medium frothy white head, diminishes somewhat to a patchy film, some lacing. Aroma is very fragrant floral and citrus hops, perfumey, caramel malt (meal, grain, straw), slightly toasted, yeast (dough). Moderately bitter and medium acidity, tart hop rind, pine juice, malty balanced flavor with a hint of oranges. Medium bodied, fizzy and dry palate. User37895 (3042) - - JUN 9, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2006 Poured an orange color with a huge pillowy head and great lacing. Took three pours to get it in, while waiting for the head to settle. Sedimentation came out on the last pour(s) and remained separated out, like a black and tan: two phase beer, cloudy sedimentation cloud on top. The aroma was nice, hoppy, some pine, some citrus. The flavor was strongly hopped, some bitter malts underneath, including caramel. Some bitter citrus rinds and some pine hops. The mouthfeel was typical for the style with a fairly heavy body. mvp (265) - Harper Woods, Michigan, USA - JUN 8, 2006
Nice clear beer. If you don’t pour the settled yeast from the bottom of the bottle into your glass. Nice Citrus aroma. It doesn’t taste like fish on the bottle but goes great with a fish dinner. One of the best IPA’s I ever had.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2006 I’m a novice but this was pretty good beer. citrus, orange, hazy, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, creamy, average carbonation, undsioux7 (876) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - JUN 8, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2006 First time on tap at old chicago and it wasn’t that good because old chicago, Eden Prairie DOESN’t CLEAN THEIR LINES!
But from the bottle we get the goods: Pours a mostly clear dark orange with a nice medium pillowy white head that stays. Big floral, perfumy hop aroma with a little sweet malt background.
Floral, pine and grapefruit hit u up right of the bat then a nice malt kicks in the middle leaving a light bitterness in the back of the pallete. Medium bodied on the pallete. mnurda (1289) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JUN 8, 2006
Hemingway-esque trips? A nice thought. Had a couple of these the other night with dinner. Nice tasting IPA. Not quite as hoppy as I expected. And call me shallow, but the label threw me off a bit. Would drink it again. BAsed on cbrixius’s review, I would like to try the Draft version. cbrixius (136) - Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 2, 2006
Fantastic beer. Had it on draft at the Brewhouse Grille in Camp Hill, PA. Could smell the Cascade hops from a mile away, similar to Stone IPA and Troegs Nugget Nectar in character and taste. Had it last year in a six pack but not as memorable as the draft. BeerBlockaid (683) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 31, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2010 I’ve been thirsty for this brewer ever since I signed up here. And FINALLY I make it to Detroit for the Movement music fest and just so happen to come along to a place called Jacoby’s that had a Bells product. The previous night I was left high and dry when i got to the club too late and they already stopped serving...sooo I missed out on the stout. Anyhow. VERY FINE IPA. Complex yet subtle in every degree. From the hoppy malt nose to the hop-in-the-kitchen taste. Very refreshing and clean and well blended. Some tartiness here, some sweetness there. Each sip was different. Fruits to Grasses. TECHNO AND BEER!! Because I miss this so much, it gets a 5.
