12 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of potent grapefruit, piney hops and citrus, balanced by caramel malt. Flavour is heavy on the piney hops, grapefruit and citrus, with just enough caramel malt. Most wonderful IPA. Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 26, 2000

Hazy orange, good steady creamy white head, some lace. Fabulous citrus and pinewood hoppy aroma. Good malty backed with lemony hops. Fruity finish, a bit yeast also in the flavor. I liked aroma more than flavor.
Sample. Amber with off-white head. Flavour is malt, caramel, and well hopped. yngwie (17049) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 29, 2007
Bottle. (from trade with the_epeeist) Golden, almost clear body, under a white head leaving nice lacings. Piney, citrusy, beef-stock malty nose with resin as well. Even though the flavor is on the hoppy side, there’s a balance to it, and I like it. It has a nice level of bitterness, with the usual flavors from the hops, and a good dash of malts. It could maybe have a little bit fuller body, but I’m not holding it against it. The finish is long, resiny and fruity, with a nice bitterness. Lovely, really lovely IPA. (070719)

Bottle thanks to drowland. Pours copper amber with white head. Nose is floral hops and tons of citrus. Taste is hops, citrus and caramel malt balance. Nice crisp dryish finish. Good IPA. brokensail (16444) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 15, 2010
A: It pours a hazy burnt orange color with a small white head. Some sticky looking lacing as I drink this one.
S: The aroma really blew me away. Loads of citrus hop aroma, sweet tropical fruits, and not much malt--very nice.
T: The taste is very similar to the aroma. A great grapefruit and orange flavor, along with sweet pineapple. The finish is nice and piney, giving a bitterness to balance out the fruit.
M: The beer is medium bodied and has moderate carbonation.
D: I can see why people go nuts over this beer. Such a solid IPA, much more similar to the California IPAs than most other Midwest and East Coast offerings. Dedollewaitor (16158) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 20, 2008
12oz bottle. Thanks to TheEpeeist. Pours hazy golden with a fine stable creamy white head & handsome lacings. Nose is hoppy - lots of fruity citrus & floral notes. Overall a hoppy IPA with just a touch of bready malts. Pine, grapefruit & citrus. Very fresh & crisp. Long lasting bitter end! This is quality! Very nice! Maybe my detergents are weird, but this reminds me of doing the washing up, piney and citrus. Sweetness comes from tinned peaches and pineapple. Pale orange, small brief head. Delicious toffee malts, fruity zesty hops. Perfect balance between malts, aromatic citrussy piney hops, and nettley zesty bitter hops. Shame about the negative connotations from the aroma, this is a gorgeous fresh IPA. Covers 7% very well indeed. Well done Bells, this reminds me of my first Hopslam experience years ago - I’m actually excited by an American IPA!
Draught, 7.1%. Good hoppy aroma, mildly piney, hint of orange juice and perhaps flatulence. Cloudy dark golden colour. Small stable frothy white head. The flavour is nicely hoppy, not unlike the aroma. There is a hint of vanilla and some soft fruit, very faint. A well-crafted and subtle beer, and very good.
