India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

12oz bottle-pours a thick foamy to rocky slightly off white head and hazy yellow/gold color. Aroma is lots of citrus hops-lemon zest. Taste is lots of light citrus hops-lemon zest, some bitterness, some malt(?) OK carbonation. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2011 Firkin at Ashley’s. Poured a cloudy amber gold with an off-white head. Aroma was full of hops bring out a pleasant pine note, while there is an undertone of fruit, a bit of apple perhaps. The flavor was deliciously balance with pine notes as well the slightest sweetness under the bitterness.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2013 12 fl oz bottle. 12147 PKGD. 6/26/13 A. (Macadoodles) Branson, MO.

Clear golden colour with a small white head.
Exotic fruits, floral and sweet hops, moderate bitterness and sweetish malt in the stunningly delicious aroma. The flavour is smooth, extremely smooth. Exotic fruity and sweet with balancing maltiness. Perfectly balanced. Smooth and soft carbonation. This is the American IPA at it’s best. Incredible. I wanna travel to Kalamazoo...

Draught at the Bell’s Eccentric Café, Kalamazoo, MI.

Hazy amber colour with a small white head.
Extremely fruity aroma with exotic fruits and mild bitterness. Very balanced. Fruity and piney hops, moderate bitterness and maltiness in an absolutely tasty flavour. This was the reason I travelled to Kalamazoo...

Bottle. Lime, tangerine, and pine hops aroma. Hazy orange-amber with moderate head and nice lacing. Sligntly sweet tangerine flavor quickly followed by moderate pine hops. Strange finish - after swallowing get a watery slightly metallic taste with pine hops returning a few seconds later. Nice that its flavor isn’t the typical orange grapefruit.

Yeah this is a top notch IPA...Bells does it AGAIN. Beer pours a slightly cloudy golden/orange color with a medium white head. Aromas are hops, pine, and more hops! Flavor is delicious. Hoppy, faint hints on honey, light malt notes, perfect carbonation. Best IPA I have ever had I do believe.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 TAP: at Bulldog Lowertown (St. Paul, MN) on 1.25.09. Gold, translucent pour, light head. Slightly lighter in color than Bells HopSlam. Floral hop aroma that was mild. Taste was sweet, very well-balanced hop that comes on late, and pine. A little less edgy than HopSlam.

355 ml. can @ Gollem. Lightly hazy orange with a creamy off-white head. Nose is classical, well-balanced DIPA, orange peel, pine resin, touch less fruity, touch more on the bitter edge, faint herbal but very restrained, balanced & enjoyable, low caramel. Taste is balanced mellow pine, caramel malts, orange peel, balanced, mellow easy, low fruity but in a good way, nothing overly aggressive, great balanced, low herbal touch in finish, finish carries low increase in bitterness; very easy to drink & massively enjoyable. This is a current & future classic, great balance, super easy to drink, very welcoming & it comes in a can. Great exercise in drinkability & balance in my opinion, just very pleasing. At good price & availability I would make this a staple despite not being the biggest DIPA fan (I like but just not a massively as every other beer geek).

The aroma is of hop blossoms, FTD flowers, fir trees and freshly ground black pepper.
Hazy, deep golden hue with a large, rocky white head. Mostly, but not fully diminishing with great lacing.
The flavor is that of bitter juniper berries and pine/fir with just a suggestion of the heavy malt and high gravity alcohol.
Full-bodied with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel.
Long, citrisy, bone-dry finish with a woodsy, gin-laden whisper at the far end.
Very nice IPA.
