On tap at the Happy Gnome, pours a hazy amber/brown with a small khaki head. Fruity Berry aroma with some oak. Taste has quick fruit flavors into bourbon and vanilla, palate gets thin and flavors drop off finishing with a bitter alcohol kick.

Keg @ Happy Gnome. Slightly hazy medium Amber with a tiny head. Aroma of caramelized banana and canilla. Sweet and muscular. Flavor is similar. Hot, rich, a bit spicy. Peppered banana, caramel. Vanilla. Toasted bread. Boozy hot finish. Full body, substantial. Light carb.

December 5, 2015 - on tap at Happy Gnome. Clear golden orange pour with limited head. Just as expected, aroma and taste of a bourbon barrel Oberon.

Sample at Strong Ale Fest 2015. Comes a mostly clear golden orange with a decent off-white head. Aroma of malt, grain, vanilla, wood, and alcohol. Taste is malt, vanilla, wheat, oak, and some bourbon. Worth a try.

Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that leaves some lace streaks. Aroma of vanilla, wheat, oak, toffee, bubblegum, and dried apricot. Flavor of vanilla, tea, wheat, lemon, and oak. Light-Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a tea-like mouthfeel. Starts sweet and finishes earthier. Odd but interesting.

Tap. Poured hazy orange copper color with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex vanilla wood and wheat aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bourbon sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. A better version of a soft beer.

Draft at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have wheat malts, bread, orange citrus, light vanilla and wood. The body is very light and watery. Surprising that it is 10 %. I’m not really a fan of this.

Taster on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Always wanted to try this one... Nice big vanilla whiskey bourbon barrel aroma, but no bite or burn. Works well with the bready, biscuity rich flavors of the wheat wine. A light, orange citrus hop aroma. Clear golden orange color. Smooth, kind of slick texture. Lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Nice long vanilla, lightly spicy bready wheaty rich aftertaste. Moderate sweet taste, light alcohol warmth. Tasty, big complex wheat wine.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Tap: Cloudy, amber body, similar to Oberon (duh) but maybe a bit darker. Foamy, beige head that reduces to a stretchy film quickly. Aroma is fairly light, actually. Mild bourbon, light orange & citrus zest, white pepper, and some strong barrel-induced vanilla in the back. Taste is mostly bourbon and oak, like drinking a liquid bourbon barrel, but not quite as harsh as it sounds. A little timid orange zest from time to time, and some soft wheat in the background, but this is largely barrel. It’s much better than I was expecting, really. It’s like an extremely tame bourbon with some orange peel and wheat notes tossed in.
