4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2013 On tap at Bells Eccentric Cafe 6-21-13. This doesn’t taste much like an Oberon. Tastes more like a cross between a very smooth scotch and white wine. Bourbon and fruit but not a lot of wheat. Very good beer, but definitely not a session beer.
Banana juice with a shot of bourbon. Lacks all the lovely subtleties of Oberon, instead smacking you with a massive dose of phenolic wheat beer sweetness, full of bananas and cloves and hot, hot booze. Hops never seem to come into play, instead getting pushed aside by the assertive bourbon. No oak, no ale, all hefe and liquor. Drinkable, but not what I want from Oberon. Light amber with a tallish, fluffy, off-white head. Cloves and banana dominate the scents. Some wheat and alcohol also wander about. Bits of oak along with decent wheatbock flavors. Perhaps a touch too much alcohol, otherwise a nice helles weissbock 3/17 JaBier (7972) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JAN 16, 2017
Sample at Studio 35 during the Dude-A-Thon on 1/15/17. Pours clear amber with a thick off-white head. Aroma of malt, bourbon and caramel. Malty and boozy flavor with a sweet vanilla and caramel finish. bubblehouse (1531) - louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 14, 2017
Not my favorite. Pretty weak aroma but the whiskey notes come through pretty strong. CanIHave4Beers (4184) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - DEC 15, 2016

Pours a hazy bright orange with a good head that leaves a plentiful lacing on the glass
Aroma almost has a fermented honey character, some orange, some spice... Sort of sweet & a fairly boozy.
Flavor is sweet with plenty of honey & spiciness. Plenty of orange, lots of clove. Plenty of booze, sort of great in an unexplainable way.
Clear deep golden with a thin foamy white cap. Boozy wheaty blonde nose with a touch of oak and sunshine. Crisp flavor that’s boozy and oaked and wheaty and just a light touch of white wine and orange pith. Bright and oakey and citrusy and boozy and just...amazing. beastiefan2k (3981) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - OCT 10, 2016
Draft at Max’s. Thick golden beer with long head retention. Can’t see through it but thick looking. The cold fights the sweetness but it comes out as it warms. The sweetness hides alcohol, didn’t think it’s 10abv. Still some coriander and citrus aroma. But flavor loses all the nuance and it’s just a sweet wheat tea beer. rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 10, 2016
