Draught. Bright clear copper, thin white head. Sweet nose, caramel and malt. Mild smoke flavor, well incorporated into a generally complex malt profile, biscuit, toast, straw. Pint at Sugar Maple. Filtered amber. Thin head. Odd and twisted, a confrontation between amber and smoked malt. Smoky and very smooth at the same time. Nice. very easy and true to style, not relying on an overdose of smoked malt. Excellent, mellow enough to confuse the raterís palate. dark orange color, nice foam. flavor is slightly smokey but not overpowering. didnít think a smoked lager could be this refreshing but it really really is nice. on tap at ecentric cafe

Draft at CDA at Fizz. Pours a brooding brownish amber with a stiff offwhite head. Nose is nicely smokey with a hint of a clovey phenolic as well. Some nice toasty malts back it up, no real hop character. On taste, the clovey phenolic is far more pronounced, overshadowing the smoke. Draft pour at Craft Day Afternoon (Chicago, IL). Pours a crisp amber pour, touches of copper, shiny glow, with a huge offwhite head that cakes big and laces well. Aromas are decent smokey meatiness, some sweet biscuits and light toffee, smoke is decent in strength, touches of ham and light florals. Initial is light bodied, a nice kick of smoked malts throwing some carmelized sweetness, smokey hammyness. Touches of bread dough, biscuits, and toast. Lingering smoke, carmelized malts. On tap at Bells. Pours a golden/amber/yellow with a small close knit white head. Aroma is of roasted malts, smoked meat, caramel, and toast. Pours a clear light golden color with a very thin head that doesnt stick around for long. The nose is slightly smokey with a bit of meat. Touch of malt in the background. Flavor adds in a good touch of smoke and hits the crisp malt quite well. Nice balance and not overly smoked. Light to medium body with good carbonation and a smokey finish. Tasty. I like it.
