Draft. Poured clear dark brown with an average light brown frothy head that was mostly diminished with very good lacing. Moderate smoke toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet smoke flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Complex drinkable beer.

Draft @ Eccentric Cafe. Unclear light orange colour, white head. Aroma of smoked malts, a bit fruity. Flavour is smoked malts, oaky and a bit burned. Fairly bitter, highly carbonated. A bit harsh. LilBeerDoctor (3931) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2010
On tap at Eccentric Cafe. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of mild smoke and malt. Flavor of smoke, tons of leather, and tar. Very thin palate and overall this was a gross, disgusting beer (and normally I am a fan of smoked beers). Would not recommend!!

[Draft @ City Tap House] Lightly hazy dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malts, wood, toasted malts, and light citrus. Taste of toast, light sweeter toffee, some wood, and a dry, smokey finish.

Draft at City Tap House.
Pours a slightly hazy golden copper orange color with burnt orange hues when held to a light source and a 1.5 finger white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Sporadic streaks of lacing left behind.
Slightly smokey malt aroma that is quit bland reall with faint hints of oak, toast, BBQ, charcoal and bacon. These hints are a stretch and hard to point out but there is a faint caramel malt presence in the nose. So far this beer is disappointing. Hopefully the feel, taste and drink will improve.
The mouthfeel and flavor of the beer are both substantially better than expected. Full bodied with a prominent spicy, hoppy character ip front that is slowly countered by a sweet caramel malt backbone which has a nice smokey presence that lngers into a long dry finish. Subtle hints of charcoal, BBQ, bacon, campfire and butane. The smokiness bcomes more evident as this beer mares and really shows in the finish but I wish it was a touch more intense. Nicely balance bur not one of the best examples of he style.

This poured a clear yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of smoked peated malts, some rubber, and some brown malt too. Flavor was much like the aroma, burnt rubber and malts. I guess im just not a big fan of smoked beers that arent porters or stouts. Silphium (3199) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - APR 28, 2010
On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Translucent straw body, thin off-white head. Smoky nose. Smoke-dominated, leathery body with muted toasted malts. Pretty basic, perhaps interesting for the smoked beer newbie, but plain and unrewarding after a few sips. coyotehunter (698) - , Michigan, USA - APR 25, 2010
