Pours a hazy golden orange color with lots of sediment floating throughout. There is a three finger off white head that left some nice lacing around the glass. The aroma is mostly clove, all spice, some banana. The flavor is banana, bubble gum, some faint spices.

slowrunner77 (12997) - Reno, Nevada, USA - NOV 28, 2017
Hazy gold. Tastes and smells like a spruced up winter hefe really. Nothing bad but really not a standout either. I'd been hoping for more from Bells.

ttoadee (1608) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 22, 2017
Cloudy light yellow pour, white head briefly. Nose is bread, spice and citrus. Middle is wheat, unripe banana, some earthy spice. Finish is creamy malt and semi dry.

ttutony (945) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 11, 2017
Hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma of hefeweizen yeast mainly. Some wheat flavors on the palate with a bit of spice from the yeast. Mostly wit meets a hint of hefeweizen.

Pours a cloudy golden with cream head. Scent is lightly spiced whit beer. Taste is cloves and fruit typical of style but subdued. A very light beer for a whit.

December 6, 2014 - Bell’s has a stellar reputation around both its core and special beers, which means when I see a new rank and file beer like the White Ale I have higher expectations than I would for most breweries. I am also keenly interested to see why Bell would brew a lighter beer for the winter months when heavy malt bills crowd the store shelves. It is indeed on the lighter end of the spectrum, but doesn’t have that neon yellow brashness that Hoegaarden has, but instead a murkier, straw colored wheat beer appearance. Light and grainy, the aroma is approachable, with a distinctive wheat scent and some elements borrowed from hefeweizens, like a touch of butter. The flavor is tangier than a hefeweizen though, contrasting with the calm, placidity of the wheat bill. Banana esters sweeten up the flavor mixture too, but it’s that added tang that makes this a memorable brew. I’m still uncertain how this appeals to anyone caught up in a snowstorm or a bleak winter, but outside of seasonal considerations this is a tasty, tangy, light and drinkable brew.

Paid $4 for a four-pack of 16floz cans. Canned on date indicates 10.05.2017 (shelf life 6 months), Poured into an imperial nonic glass. Smells of phenols like lemon zest and banana peel. Appears a school bus yellow with particles in suspension. This beer is smooth and mild. Clove and straw flavors blend well together and leave a slight sourness. Spring is soon, and this beer is more fitting for that season.
