MicroGrog (367) - FT: Stale Polotmavý in Queens, New York, USA - DEC 26, 2012

Sampled at the New Amsterdam Market Cider Revival.
Plastic cup. Clear, spritzy, pale gold body.
Slightly spicy pear scent.
Taste is tart, mildly woody, & floral. Moderate acid, mellow tartness. A dusty/yeasty texture. Noticalbe sulfites. Drying, lightly bitter apple peel finish.
One of their better ciders. Not $18 good, but worth trying again at an uncrowded fest sorta decent.

Bottle. Crystal clear bright golden yellow with champagne head and bubbles. Nice aroma of dry, dusty apple skins. Taste is dry, fruity, mildy tart apples and light citrus. Very tasty.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with some spritzy effervescence that quickly disappears. Pleasant aroma of tart apple. The flavor is crisp, tart apple, lightly dry.

Pours pale straw color with some fizzy carbonation. Smells of tarte apples, some spicy undertones. Tastes dry and crisp with some light floral notes and a tarte finish.

750mL Bottle poured at CiderDays 2010. Some seaweed, ocean minerals, and oyster liquor amongst fresh apple juice. Surprised to get such a saline character. Mid-yellow. High floral flavor, with a mid-bodied texture. Finishes a bit wild. Lots of saline and seafood notes coming through for me somehow. Nice but a nip bitter for me.

0.75l - Pours beautifully, with light fizz of small bubbles. Typical cider funk nose, a little yeast, a little sulfur. Mildly sour palate, pleasant off-dry flavor. I enjoyed this.
