650 ml bottle, clear amber pour, minimal white head.
Great funky aroma, the barrel is right up front bringing some nice woody vanilla notes. The fruit is subtle, but adds a nice sugary, fruity sweetness. The funk is solid and fresh, wet hay, and green fresh cut grass. As it warms the vanilla really starts to dominate and take away from the funk. Still extremely impressive! rwgould (331) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 30, 2012
650ml bottle from the brewery. Served in a trappist glass. Pours transparent orange-brown, small white head, medium visible carbonation. Aroma: Grapes, plums, lemon, banana, cinnamon, cloves. Super fruity. Palate: Medium bodied, syrupy, smooth, fairly fizzy, tart finish. Taste: Very sweet, slightly dry finish. Hints of sourness throughout, getting strong in the end. Really well balanced. Not super dry like most tripels, and the sourness is quite pleasant but not overpowering. neongolden (1610) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2012
(On draught at the brewpub, Sept 28 2012) Pours a clear amber with a fluffy white head that left lacing. Aroma very complex: sour plum aroma definitely present but not overpowering, woody barrel, grape, banana and clove esters, citrus, light funk. Flavour brings the plums to the fore, definitely sour, some candy sugar sweetness, light wine grape, funky hay, slightly buttery like a barrel-aged Chardonnay, a little vanilla, finishes sour and a bit bitter as well. Body medium-full, soft active carbonation, alcohol mostly hidden. So complex, well-balanced sweet/sour/funky/bitter, delicious riot of fruity flavours and barrel characters. Superb sour, needed another the next day! czar (8996) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 14, 2014
(yellow plums version) bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro. pours slightly hazy and bright pale golden with a frothy white head, excellent retention and lacing. dusty bugs, winey - juicy red and white grapes, tropical and citrusy, tasty spicy and honeyed malts - tripel base is actually quite present, tons of fruitiness - blackberries but also apricots. bright carbonation - slightly foamy, light to medium body - oily but feels particularly light, dry herbal-grassy-woodsy lightly astringent finish. fantastic stuff.. mds (2250) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 18, 2014

Smells of plum, grape and oak.
Orange with a lasting fluffy white head.
Good carbonation and refreshing tartness. Tastes like a nice tripel with all its fruit but with a fine balance of tart up front. Finishes slightly sweet and spritzy. Some alcohol warmth. Great stuff.
My Bottom Line:DerWeg (1678) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 31, 2014
Plums, white grapes and citrus fruit wrap themselves around eloquent cereals, while wood and brettanomyces greenness add complexity to an already compelling Wild Tripel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam coats the blond mist.
-The mouthfeel is dry and soft. Drinkability is sky high for such a potent brew.
-As for most Bellwoods creations, the rendering and flavor display are classy and balanced.
-Brettanomyces adds character but doesn’t take over, which I appreciate.
-Can’t wait to try this bottled!
On tap at Siboire, Sherbrooke.
VERSION 2 - aged over a year on brett then four months on yellow plums - holyfuck amazing. I would rush your Toronto ass down here to enjoy this exceptional batch, very plummy/apricot-y and the brett sets it off really well. Insanely integrated Fuzzy gold-orange-green color. And I thought I was over Tripels like disco. ametras (1574) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 13, 2015
On tap at the brewpub. Clear golden with a thin foamy white head. Flavors are honey, plums, cherries, lemon, pear, grapes, apricot, oak, sweet malts, vanilla and and leather with spicy and funky notes. Medium body, soft carbonation oily texture. Beautiful. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of oak barrel, lemon, light fruits, bready malt. Flavor of oak barrel, grape, liquor, plum, citrusy hops with bitter hops and sweet plum in the finish. It doesn’t taste wild or funky as the description suggests, just barrel aged. It reminds me a lot of Captain Lawrence Golden Delicious. Very unique and delicious, my favorite offering from Bellwoods.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2013 Bottle, pours a nice light brown, a bit cloud, aroma is a nice funk, the flavour is nice and full, lots of sour notes, not overly sour but it is a bit fruity, a really nice sour
This one doesnt appear to age well, the booze comes out a lot more and a lot of the flavours appear to have faded.
