Hazy yellow with the classic bright white head. 6.5% abv. typical to Wallonian style. Yeasty aromas with a bit of a distinct funk that I find in many of their beers. Could very well be brettanomyces. Not overly complex in the mouth with a sour astringency that lingers. Not my favourite example of a Sasion, as I would like to see a little more brightness in character.

Batch 9 at Ratebeer Best. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong brett, oak, funk. Medium body, citrus, brett, oak, light dry finish, very good.

Bottled (Batch 9) at Ottawa gathering. Hazy pale golden, small head. Tart funky nose with hay and lemon. Bone dry with light-medium body crisp, spritzy mouthfeel. Crisp, minerally and lightly bready. Notes of black currant. Mid bitter finish. Very elegant.

@RBB Cloudy gold. Pleasant bright farmhouse aroma and flavor. Musty, light funk and brett, fruity. Pretty cool. The bright cherry version was even better.

Batch #10, 6.5% ABV
Compared to the batch #9, it’s smoother, more lemony, more winey, lighter and more floral, even cleaner. Better than the #9

Batch #9, 6.5% ABV
Cloudy blond color. Dry beer, but smooth, with moderate Brett character, funk, some citrus peel, a bit too astringent, maybe dirty.

Vintage 2015.

(Rating #7004)

Bottle (Batch #9) from the brewery, listed as 6.5%. Pale straw yellow with a bubbly white head that fades to a thin pillow top. Refreshing and laid back with a lot going on - peach, oak, white pepper, white grapes, chardonnay, light yeast, epson salt, lemon zest, some hay and straw. Moderate carbonation and full body, incredibly well balanced and smooth, nice funk with a dry and slightly bitter finish. Very good.
