COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This limited edition version of Jelly King includes a large dose of strawberry and rhubarb purees, blended on top of a mixed fermentation sour ale. In addition, we added a complimentary dose of Citra-Mosaic-Cascade in the dry hop. The result is juicy, sour, and bursting with jammy aroma and flavour that comes enrobed in a dusty rose hue. A classic combo served on top of a sour beer for your pleasure.

A 500ml bottle with no bottled on or best before date, poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was a cloudy guava pink colour with a two finger white head that dissipated quickly and left sparse to no lacing. Aromas of sweet jelly fruitiness, strawberry, peach and apricot. Mixed berry instant jello. Tastes very juicy, moderate tartness, lightly sour. Strawberry, rhubarb, lemon and peaches. Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, really tasty stuff, and I felt that the addition of strawberry, rhubarb and dry hopping improved upon the base beer Jelly King quite a bit. Perfect for a hot summer day.

Bottle from the brewpub. Pours a light cloudy pink. Smells of tart rhubarb, faint strawberries, with the underlying Jelly King backbone of lactic sourness. Tastes like strawberry rhubarb jam! Strong rhubarb and strawberry flavours, with underlying lactic sourness and lemon notes. Tasty tasty stuff. Can't wait to see what flavour they do next.

Murky blond color with lot of sediment. Smells funny, fruit and some manure, but it has a vibrant mouthfeel, sour, with delicate strawberry and some additional acidity kick from the rhubarb.
Very good.

500ml bottle @ Alex's. Pours a cloudy pinkish orange colour with a thin white head. Nose is light strawberry yoghurt. Flavour is lightly sour strawberry with tart rhubarb character. It's not bad and easy drinking with mostly clean finish.

Bottle - Soured rhubarb and a touch of strawberry in the finish. Cloudy pink and orange with a small white head. Strawberry and soured rhubarb with some sugary sweetness, pretty nice.

Opaque. Light pinkish-tan, so a bit of an odd colour. No head. On the nose, some really powerful phenols, completely medicinal. If you let it warm up a little bit of strawberry comes out. The strawberry comes out a lot more on the palate, lending a touch of sweetness. The rhubarb tartness comes through pretty nicely as well. Good tartness as well. If you get past the aroma, it's pretty good.

500ml bottle at Alex's (thx, Chris S.!). Pours a murky rose-ish golden with a white head. First nose is stinky, but after it is strawberry and lacto. Similar sour taste with strawberry, stone fruits and some lacto notes. Pleasant.

Pale pink tinted cloudy pour. Thin fast-fading white head. The aroma has a lot of bright tartness. Lemon and a bit of citrus and berry. There's a touch of odd solventy methanol aroma and burnt plastic that is very distracting. A bit of jam and an intense lactic sourness. Yogourt and a bit of wheaty spice. There are some excellent top notes but I just can't get past the bandaid flavour... not enjoying this at all.

Bottle (500 ml) at home. Muddy pinkish orangey with a medium white head, low retention, not leaving much lacing. Aroma is intensely fruity from both the hops (loads of citrus and tropical fruits) and the real fruits (strawberries and rhubarb) and super juicy. Taste is similar with a light acidity, more strawberries and rhubarb and tropical fruits but massive presence of both, light herbalness and loads of juiciness. Light body. Very soft carbonation. Super juicy - like real fruit juice - mouthfeel. Gently tart finish. That’s not complex at all but the juiciness and massive fruit presence (from the hops and the fruits) combined with a fun light acidity makes this one really enjoyable.
