(tap at Volo during Sunsplash) clear yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of grapefruit; dryish flavour with a long medium bitter finish

A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, light catty and sulfur notes. In mouth, a good crisp biscuit malt with pungent grassy floral hops, light sulfur and funk, very nice.

In short: A bright blond IPA pushing forward superb freshness quality. Simple and excellent.
How: Bottle 650ml, consumed relatively fresh, a little over one month after bottling date, bottle sent to me by blankboy, thanks a lot Paul.
The look: Partly cloudy yellow blond body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Pleasant very bright nose that is somewhere between citrusy hops and lemongrass with some perfumy notes (flower petals). In mouth the beer offers a medium body and a tickling carbonation with many small bubbles. Pleasant malt backone with a clean and crisp crunchy cereals flavors, light honey notes, discreet residual sugars, fresh puffy pastry sensation. Then the bright (very bright) hops proposing white grapefruits, lemon zest, tangerines, lemongrass, a some resinous notes. Very clean, very bright and with an overall freshness sensation that usually don’t get from bottled beers. Scarily drinkable. Give this beer a more cushiony mouthfeel and it could pass as a Hill Farmstead IPA. An excellent beer to celebrate a birthday, not mine, a stranger’s birthday, we don’t know each other, his name might be Gary, I don’t know.

650ml bottle from Bellwoods, kept in fridge. Light gold coat with dense small bubble head and fine carb. Open and lightly grassy aroma plays into sweet-bitter grassy taste and lemon, manages to stay a little creamy and drinkable in spite of the definite herbal leafy dryness. Nice mineral on the finish, a bit of tea. It is what it says.

650 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a lightly hazed golden orange colour with lasting white head. Aroma is resiny piney hops with hints of fruitiness. Flavour is full of resin/pine with some light grains and fruity accents. Crisp finish. Very drinkable.

Aroma great front hop character. Clean crisp feel , excellent show of single hop.8-
Appearance fine haze on golden base. Medium off white to p with rings on glass.3+
Flavor and Palate : front accented my musky, zesty soapy notes. Strong single hop profile with bit too little malt support. Dry finish.

Nose is subtle juicy hops, mouthfeel gentle prickle of carbonation, with a smooth finish. Flavour is grained malts and well balanced lemon hops with a clean finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at Bar Hop. Hazy gold, average white head. Lovely citrus and light pine aroma, a little sweet, but juicy and appealing. Taste follows, only light bitterness, very crisp, mild alcohol, light fresh grain. Average body, solid carbonation, quickish finish. Solid drinking APA.

Pours orange, clear with a frothy white head that sticks around and lots of lacing. Nose is onion, maybe garlic and some grapefruit. Aromas are grapefruit, onion, with a spicy finish. No malt sweetness. Taste is pretty heavy on the bitterness. Body is medium, with some silky quality to it. Lively carbonation with an acidic bite. Great way to get the summit profile.

neongolden (1832) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 24, 2013
(650mL bomber from the brewery, bottled Feb 12 2013, consumed 11 days later) Poured a slightly hazy light yellow gold with a huge persistent head of white foam, no lace. Aroma dank, grassy, citrus and tropical fruit, great hoppy nose. Flavour hop-forward as well, tropical fruit, grassy, juicy citrus over very light crackery malt, almost no sweetness. Fades into a dry, moderately bitter grapefruit pith finish from the hops. Body is fairly light, carb was soft after that massive head, very dry overall. Hop-forward and quenching with little malt character, I think this is exactly what an APA should be. Needs more summer weather!
