Year-old bottle aged in my cellar, from the brewery bottleshop. Cloudy warm reddish brown with a tan head. Lovely warming aroma of toffee and raisins with a hint of pie spices. Toffee and caramel and raisins in flavour.

Bottle. Medium brown with burnt orange highlights. Aroma of fruitcake and bread. Dark caramel, raisins, marzipan. Very clean, with brisk carbonation. A great Dubbel.

Bouteille 500ml.

Tobacco scent. Somewhat thin tasting double. A good bit of spice here. Lots of warming alcohol.

Pours reddish brown. Yeasty and malty aroma, some fruit. Beer tastes lots of toffee and roasted malt, a bit thin for a dubbel, smooth finish not too hot. An okay rendition of a difficult style.

Roasty aroma with nutty notes. Opaque dark-chocolate colour. Dark chocolate front with notes of dates, hazlenut, honey, and honey. Medium body with mild carbonation. Quite a tasty beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear mahogany with minimal head. Flavors are toasted cereals, dried fruits, caramel, chocolate, yeast and bubblegum with earthy and spicy notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture.

Helsdon (390) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 22, 2015
Cloudy brown pour, tan head. What you would expect from a unfiltered double. Nice aroma of sweet roasted malts, a little raisin, a touch of booze and bready yeast. Roasted malts, a decent balance in the sweetness and bitter, some dried fruit - plum and raisin, a little touch of yeast. Excellent showing for a dubbel.

thorongil2 (3076) - , Ontario, CANADA - FEB 26, 2015
(tap) hazy reddish brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of tobacco, lilies, some dried fruit; rich, balanced flavour with a short sour and longer light bitter finish
