[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A hazy brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is powerful dominated by yeast. The flavor is also powerful with strong notes of yeast, but also caramel and roasted malt, leading to a very bitter end.

Cask at the Raglan Arms, Rugby - 19/09/12. Badged as Belvoir Best. Clear golden with a decent white head - really looks the part for a cask bitter! Very muted nose, really little to say other than a little malt. Taste is a big improvement on the nose with toasted malts, caramel, hops amd a little smokiness. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy, nice feel to this bitter.

imdownthepub (14547) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 4, 2003
Cask Conditioned at Harbury Beer Festival. Amber orange beer, no head quite flat. Toffee malts predominate a little sour, moderate hoppiness though boiled rather than fresh.

leaparsons (10546) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2004
Melton Mowbray Fest 04. Copper and amber in colour. Aromas are berry fruit, spice and toffee. Flavours are fruity toffee malts with a really pretty dry, hoppy finish. Simple, but moreish.

JorisPPattyn (9982) - Ursel, BELGIUM - SEP 10, 2007
Cask Transparant, but decent fluffy head, over foxy-amber beer. Bit of caramel, UK hops, dry hop sacks, old hessian. Nutty & caramel flavour, but light & relieved by some good aroma hops added. A bit light for a Best Bitter. Quite some slickness, even sticky, caramel ending. Light bodied, but nice, invitingly tasting bitter.

Cask Stillage at the Victory Hall Mens Club, Mobberley 27/07/2003 Mid brown coloured pale and sour with lots of fruit and malt in the finish.

maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2009
Cask conditioned - handpump Salutation Inn Nottingham A copper coloured beer with an off white head and lacing. A grassy aroma and a full bitter taste. No real fruit or citrus notes at all but a very fine bitter.
