COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sightings of the white raven in the wild are so rare that many people don’t even believe it exists. Others know better. Experiencing something that unique is hard to forget and it instils a sense of optimism to come across a creation that’s one-of-a-kind, coasting through life on its own, in its own way. The irony of this conflict is that the white raven is a natural mediator – the wise old bird would advise both sides to stick a pine cone in it and simply enjoy the beer. Our White Raven India Pale Ale is a distinctive, very hop forward blend with huge aromatics of orange, grapefruit, passion fruit and mango with a touch of pine. The signature flavours of Munich and crystal malts contribute a complex toffee-caramel backbone that nicely balances the bitterness from the hops. It finishes slightly dry with lingering citrus and a tropical impression that tells you this robust beer would pair well with blackened fish, roasted duck, and even spiced coffee cake.

473ml can. Pours insanely murky deep orange (for a can) with a huge lasting fluffy beige head. Aroma is twiggy and pine-y - some alcohol. Taste follows, a bit soapy and soft. Airy, dry mouthfeel, quick dry soft finish and a slight aftertaste of crushed fall leaves. Actually not bad at all!

A good IPA overall. All hop aromas, bitterness is subdued and mild. Super citrus forward with a nice bit of pine needle. Pours a hazy golden straw colour with light carbonation and a bright white head. The nose is bright, slightly floral and hoppy with a ton of citrus and sticky hop smelling notes. Bitterness is light and the aftertaste doesn't last too long. Overall a good beer.

[9320-20170627] 473mL can. Orange citrus wood aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a big long-lasting creamy off-white head. Orange grapefruit peel flavour has a resinous finish. Medium-full body is bitter and a little boozy. Good. (7/4/7/4/15) 3.7

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2017 A very nice IPA. Unfiltered, has beautiful and rich colour. The hops are very present but not overbearing. Quite smooth and not over carbonated. The hops bring a nice aromatic floral, somewhat citrus nose.

2017-06-27. Orange body with a nice big foamy beige head. Pleasantly hoppy aroma has nice orange citrus notes. Green hops and light resin. 7+ Flavour has similar hop character with nice orange citrus, light leafy green hops and muted resin touches. Moderate malt base grows a bit as you go. 7+ Smooth average plus body, soft carbonation. Pretty solid,, just a touch maltier than my preference. 7/4/7/3/16+ Can from Willow Park, Calgary, Enjoyed at Dinosaur Provincial Park, AB.

Rating #2522 - 2017.07.29 - Draught at Original Joes in St. Albert. Certainly not my first acquaintance with this beer, it exists in the backlog extending to May 2016. Pours a hazy golden amber with a bubbly white head, some sticky white lacing. Aroma is mango, pine needle, grapefruit. Some toffee sweetness and a staunch bitterness present. Finishes dry with some grapefruit dancing on the back end. Excellent AB IPA

On the RBSG16 bus. Pours a softly hazed golden amber with a thin white head. Toast, malt, spicy citrus with a touch of herbality to it. Medium bodied, soft malt, toast, a bit of citrus. Medium bodied, fruit, citrus. Gentle citrus on the finish.

Backwoods, AB goodness! Running out of beer so let’s summarize. In glass, in basement. Pine, grapefruit, tropics, lots of tropical stuff. This even smells excellent when crushing cans in the bush while covered in OFF. Big fruity goodness with the continuation of tropical qualities being very upfront, caramel, pine, sweet orange hints, medium bitterness. High quality shit. Another beer from Alberta that has replaced fridge stock that wasn’t from Alberta. I don’t even stock Fat Tug anymore. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
