Draught at the Bend Brewery Co. brewpub in Bend, OR. Big piney nose. Thin cloudy orange/amber color. Mild pine in initial / honeyish malty sweetness emerges in mid / finishes at low heat and then dissipates. Medium body. Pretty typical IPA. Okay, but nothing special.

Crisp hazy orange coloured body with a bright bronze glow and a nice three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of piney and especially grassy hop scents with some noticeable malt and alcohol, but the hops are central here. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and herbal hop flavours dominate with a great balance of malt, some light alcohol and a hint of dry notes - but the grass and herbal flavours really come out, in a good way. Aftertaste shows mostly hop bitterness, but the beer is perfectly balanced and the malt flavour is also noticeable. Overall, a great IPA with more of a focus on grassy and herbal flavours - great to sample! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$5.19 sampled at home in Washington on 23-June-2013.

Tap at Bend Brewing Co, Bend, 23/05/13. Clear golden with a thin off white head. Nose is hops, grass, caramel, bitter orange. Taste comprises floral hops, mineral notes, orange pith, hint of grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop bitterness in the finish. Decent enough IPA.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a slightly hazed dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with a citrusy hops character and flavors of roast malt and caramel in the background. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent IPA overall.

One of my favorite IPA’s. Great beer. Nice color and aroma. Pretty bitter but has nice hop aroma.

crackedmachine (481) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 18, 2012
Pours clear golden-orange with an airy, bubbly white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is sweet and hoppy, with elements of fruit and citrus. Flavor is bitter at first, then sweet citrus/tangerine/grapefruit, leading back into a bitter finish. Thin and light-bodied, but very flavorful. Refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light pine flavor with light summer fruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and light pine linger with light summer fruit.
