On tap at Growler Guys, pours a dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma brings out cherries upfront, followed by some cocoa and roast. Flavour is similar, with potent cherries, some roast, and a little cocoa. Really lovely balanced and quite a lot of complexity. Excellent stuff. brokensail (16436) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 12, 2010
A: The pour is a murky dark brown with some definite red notes to it. A minimal tan head forms on top.
S: The nose starts off with a big time pie cherry aroma. There’s a nice sweetness along with some chocolate and a very mild roasted malt character. The cherries are the standout here.
T: Like the nose, the cherries really make this beer. A good combination of sweetness and tartness from the fruit, along with some sweet caramel and chocolate. The roasted malt is again mild.
M: The body is medium and the carbonation is low to medium.
D: I was worried this one might be a bit medicinal or cough syrup-esque since so many cherry beers seem to end up that way. Luckily, that wasn’t the case. Ferris (15013) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 20, 2015
Bottle - Lots of dark malts and fruity with a touch of cherry. Deep jet brown with a light brown head. Sweet roasty and fruity, maybe too sweet. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 13, 2014
this one had been aged by Bend and as a result was very very smooth, but also just a touch muddled. the tart cherry compliments the dark malts, though, and this was easily one of the best they had on. rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 3, 2015

Dark reddish brown colour with a small light tan head.
Dry malt, sweet cherry, mild sweetness and mild sourness in the aroma.
Sweet cherry, mild alcohol and liqueur in the flavour.
Bitter aftertaste. Not that tasty.
Bottle... Pours clear and nearly black with flickers of copper and a fleeting, khaki head. The aroma is roasty and chocolaty with an undercurrent of sour cherries. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and feather-soft carbonation. The flavor presents sweet milk chocolate and acidic, fruity, sour cherries. Lightly sweet, tangy finish. Pulls up just short of being a world class beer. Loads of potential here. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz! douglas88 (9058) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 24, 2012
