COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a classic example of a Robust Porter. It is a ruby-hued black beer with a predominant roast malt flavor. The addition of black malt adds an underlying dryness which balances the sweetness of the crystal malts. If you love big beers this is one not to miss!

Extremely malt forward roasted, coffee and chocolate nose. Palate is superb, but slightly fizzier than expected for a dark porter.

Had on tap at brew pub in Bend. Very dark brown but not black. Smells like coffee. Fairly thick. Tastes strong but very little aftertaste. Good for camping.

(En fût à Venti and Basement Bar): Grillé, rôti, assez mince avec une finale torréfiée minutieusement aiguisée.

chinchill (5318) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 10, 2016
On tap at the brewery’s brewpub in Bend. Look: clear dark mahogany body, nearly opaque, with a decent head but minimal lacing. Aroma Dark roasted grain smells with a trace of sweet toffee. Flavor: plenty of dark roasted grain flavor. Moderately bitter.

Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - JUN 23, 2015
Had on draft at the brewery. There is a large roasted malt note that seems out of place in a porter. Dry and ashy, chocolate, soft caramel malt.

rosenbergh (11799) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 3, 2015
Draught at the Bend Brewing Co, Bend, OR.
Clear reddish brown colour with a small light tan head. Dry malt, mild roasted malt and mild coffee in the aroma. Mild coffee, malt, mild bitterness and some roasted notes in the flavour. Thin and boring.
