Cask, Mondial. hazy amber and a big, bright aroma. The pithy, citrusy bitterness is bright, clean, refreshing and appetizing. That’s good IPA. This was loosely based on 2 Hop from Volo.

A hazed golden ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a beautiful piney and citrusy hops, pungent and intense, catnip, great. In mouth, a beautiful IPA with grapefruits, piney and catty hops, smooth and balanced. On tap at Mondiale 2012, June 8 2012.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2013 On tap at bar Volo. A strange bownish colour, thick average mouthfeel, hop aromas. Good grapefruit taste, well malted and a good hop delivery. Strange mutant but very good drinkability. Ha it again at 25th Anniversary but it was not great.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2013 2013-09-28. Very hazy dark orange body with a small head that fades. Aroma of herbaceous green hops with fruity undertones. Flavour starts quite fruity, lovely sweet citrus character. But of an herbaceous quality to the hops grows later and I don’t love that. Average plus to medium bodied palate, low carbonation. 7/4/7/3/14 3.5+On tap at Volo 25th Anniversary Party

2012-06-07. Lightly hazy golden orange body witha nice beige head and lace. 3+ Pleasant aroma, nice hoppy resiny melange, mild caramel and malt touches. Someone else’s sample had a much stronger citrus character in the aroma. 7+ Similar flavour, resiny hops, good amount of bitterness, light leafy accents. 7+ Average plus to medium bodied palate. 3+ Solid serviceable IPA, bit simple overall. (Preferred the draft to the cask sample later in the week at Benelux) 8/3/7/3/16 3.7 On tap at Mondial, 4T, Montreal

My Bottom Line :
Multifarious tropical fruit float atop this easygoing IPA, leading to a restrained resinous bitterness and much merriment.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam tops the misty blond.
-Nelson Sauvin and Citra provide a bountiful aroma, yet the bitterness is far less brash than most IPAs brewed with these cultivars.
-The bitterness feels surprisingly low in this one (it’s not in theory though), which increases drinkability tenfold. Great work there as well.
-Malts are perhaps accessory (all pils?) but do provide a smooth, lean drinking experience.
-There are no harsh edges anywhere to be found. Just an all around super IPA for the thirsty who don’t want to get these taste buds shot with only one pint.

On tap at the brewpub and at the Mondial.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2014 [4457-20120607] Tap. Bubblegum-like orange citrus hops aroma with a little woody stems. Hazy, orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and some lattice lacing. Orange juicy woody hops flavour has a big bold base with lingering citrus pine notes. Medium-full body. Delicious, a great bitter. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

In short: A grapefruity-fruit IPA, refreshing, sharply bitter and relatively dry. Excellent
How: Gravity cask at brewpub
The look: Cloudy blond body topped by a small white head
In long: No description per say this time around. This collaboration IPA between Benelux and Hosue Ales is awfully similar to Benelux’s own Sabotage IPA, actually it is like a Sabotage with a lighter body, a little less grapefruity. But overall same character. I slightly prefer Sabotage although on this particular night of IPA blind tasting I preferred Voluxious of Sabotage, but it wasn’t a fresh batch of Sabotage. There were a lot of good beers at this IPA cask event at Benelux, and when there is so many good beers at the same place I turn into some kind of animal… a koala to be more precise, basically I stay there for hours and don’t move very much.
