On tap at Bnlux. The color is a dark brown with a thin beige head.THe taste is sweet of malt raisins and added to that is a certain bitterness that comes from the hops. The aroma also very sweet . This a very pleasing beer that gives off a pleasant taste in your mouth probably because of the aging condition.

My Bottom Line :
Peppery wood, coniferous hops and caramelized almonds move into a lingering resinous bitterness in this compelling Barrel-Aged Brown Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy brown.
-The peppery barrel character is engaging, but there is too much of it in this brew to keep me interested for the duration of a full glass.
-The prickly effervescence and relative dryness make this surprisingly drinkable (well, if you like a lot of barrel character, that is).
-The chosen hops are harmonious with the barrel.
-This is a lot hoppier than I had expected.
-This may not be complex, but it is intensely flavorful and as well executed as any other Benelux creation.

On tap at the Chambly festival.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Was also told dry hopped. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of wood, floral, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of wood, vanilla, light bourbon, chocolate, caramel, and lighter roast.

On tap at Cactus. Muddy brown pour with whitish head. Aroma is hoppy, lots of honey, I get strange notes of pickles too - maybe because of the barrel-aging, a bit of a strange one here. Taste is better, very nice hop bitterness, but also lots of sweet, vanilla like flavors and caramel. Full body, good carbonation. An ok strong beer.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpun, on July 23, 2011. Hazy dark brown, thin head. Sweet barley aroma, with notes of cocoa spead on tost. Barley raw but taste light, fruity malt, slightly bitter. More attenuated than the other version, but it is good!
