[Draught at the brewpub, Sep.21] Pours a deep orange-copper with an average size lasting frothy white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is bretty, herbal and lightly hoppy. Nice flavour: Bretty, fruity, herbal and a bit spicy. Medium bodied. Loved this.

Drank on tap (12 oz0 at the Montreal brewpub on September 21, 2014. Honey gold, small head. Spicy citrus aroma, with Bretts notes, nice dryness. Funky herbs taste, some citrus with dry malt notes, light sour aftertaste. Conservatively funky!

Yes!! I thought I didnt take notes on this last year for the DDC 10th anniversary weekend. Pours a hazy orange with a thin head. Aroma is tangerine, and orange citrusy aroma- with a light citrusy and tropical funk- pineapple, and horse funk with a piney hop note. Flavor is earthy, funk , horse, and cheese with a bit of sweaty goat even. Medium isovaleric and butyric notes,cheese, parmesan hints, slight salt notes, and citrusy tangerine finish - and dry. I liked this one a lot!

Tap at Benelux. Great gold pour in a huge glass with a lovely, big and puffy head. Very horsy, dry hay aroma, some coriander and cardamom. Grassy flavor, hay, a bretty bite. Dirty and yeasty as hell. Full bodied and tough to drink, however nails the "saison with brett" style. Tasty.

Draft @ Benelux. Pours a very hazy, golden-tan color; significant, creamy off-white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Really solid brett character in the aroma: lively citrus, light acidity, and toasty crackers; nicely expressed brettiness. Lively carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: effervescent, bretty, limey-citrus notes upfront; solid core expression of lightly acidity brett; toasty malts, crackers, and lightly acidic citrus. Lengthy finish: brett, toasty crackers, and light lime.

Apparence: La couleur est blonde voilée. Présence d’un moyen col mousseux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût d’agrumes avec une pointe d’épices et de céréales. Festival Bières et Saveurs 2008.Ben the owner said that the brett was served young and needs lots more time to develop, but here we are, that it mllows at this point. Significant white head on cloudy grapefruit coloured body.A wild sour smell and a bit thin mouthfeel.

My Bottom Line:
Within a brettanomyces grove burgeons herbal hop bitterness, intelligent sweet cereals and artful fruit esters, a harmonious profile which makes this Wild Ale cuddly and very drinkable.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-That wild yeast character is important throughout, but it never dominates the flavor profile; it is quite cooperative.
-I would have imagined a lighter body for a 4.4% brew fermented with brett; a crisper mouthfeel might have made this more alluring to me, defining the malts and the hops a tad more.
-Am I imagining the doughy yeast angle?
-The fruit esters are not distinct, but sure are present.
-The cereal sweetness builds a round mouthfeel.

"Saison au Brett," it said on the board - "oh hell yes," I exclaimed - and it’s good! - much more balanced brett character than in other brett saisons - beautiful hazy orange pour, with a lasting, soapy lace - slightly wheaty, refreshingly crisp aroma, with just a hint of brett character - creamy, yet refreshing palate - quite dry, with just a hint of bready malt - some crisp, bitter herbs - the brett is very young, and adds a gentle character that compliments the lemony tartness of the beer, as well a the slightest earth, leathery quality far in the back at the finish - there is a hint of sweetness that detracts from the dryness/tartness, but otherwise this is phenomenal.
