(8 janvier 2013)

Draught at the brewpub, June 9. Pours a deep orange-copper with an average size foamy tan head. Aroma of light barrel-aging, with some wood and sugary sweetness, along with yeast and dark fruit. Flavour of dark fruit, wood, hops, light alcohol and red wine notes. Almost creamy mouthfeel. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.

[4506-20120609] Tap. Fruity toasted strawberry malt aroma. Slightly hazy, dark dark red body with a long-lasting foamy light tan head and some lacing. More toasted strawberry grains flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/4/7/3/14) 3.5

2012-06-09. Very dark red-brown body, nice foamy beige head and lace. Flavour is pleasantly bite, fruity malt core, moderately alcoholic, lingering tangy fruit character. 7+ Odd aroma, sort of dusty malt, not quite woody touches, lightly fruity. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. Decent, just a little strong in both flavour and alcohol for what I was looking for today. I found that the extra alcohol took away from it more than it added compared to the regular Armada. On tap at Benelux , Montreal

Tap. Poured a dark copper/clear brown color with a creamy, small head. Aroma was malty, nutty, earthy hops. Flavor was caramel, malts, nutty and just all around wonderful. Touch of alcohol in there, but certainly hidden compared to the actual ABV.

Draft. Maybe the best brown ale Ive ever had. Super creamy & caramel malty. Thick head & muddy brown; not much in the way of aroma. Just enough hop bite at the end to even the whole thing out. Im not a huge brown ale fan, but this one definitely had me rethinking that stance.
