on tap at benelux, mtl - rue sherbrooke. hazy medium dark copper pour, orange tint, with a small reviving creamy beige head offering some retention and lacing. caramelized fruitiness with some sweetness, berry-jam-like; woodsy integrated alcohol, bubblegum, cardboard. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; sweet fruity-caramel finish. tastes like an american strong ale. ugh.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a medium sized white head. Sweet floral stone fruits on the nose. Medium bodied, sticky caramel, a bit of toast. Warm and boozy, floral and fruity. Long warming alcohol, caramel, fruits.

(Rating #6239)

On tap @ Benelux. Clear dark amber pour with an off-white head. Nose is pretty sugary and fruit forward. A lot of date, raisin, and plum. Slight black cherry soda. Flavor is rather sweet and sugary, too. Big time dark fruit, molasses, and cola. Sticky and syrupy. Maybe Dr. Pepper? Hella sweet.

rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 21, 2012

Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 11, 2011
In short: Liquefied caramel and candies in a pint. Decent sweet beer
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear dark burgundy body topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Nose has a lot of sweet malts, liquorice, burnt caramel cake. Taste is more of the same. Lots of sticky caramel, liquorice candy, some molasses, spicy hard candies. Mouthfeel it thick, sticky and oily. A bit too much of a sweet affair for me but this is nonetheless a well made beer. Another night at the pub... Local brewpubs (and beer in general) have left me with some worrying gaps in my memory and I’m now convinced that there has only been five saturday nights in the past 3 years.

Lubiere (13915) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 24, 2011
A reddish brown ale with a thick brown head, creamy. In aroma, spiced caramel, curacao, smooth and onctuous. In mouth, a smooth oily caramel, burned notes, very nice and rich, orange peels, smooth lingering hops, very good. On tap at Mondial 2011, June 9, 2011.
