Drank on tap (12 oz) at the downtown brewpub on July 18, 2014. Reddish honey, thin head. Crispy smoked barley aroma, notes of spicy meat. Meat taste slightly smoky, a little fruit, bitter sweet aftertaste. An unusual smoked beer! Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JUN 29, 2014
Pours a deep sienna color with a finger of eggshell foam. Lots of smokey bacon upfront with nice underlying complexity of leather, walnut and spruce bitterness and a touch of vegetal strangeness lingers but the smokiness is well integrated. kaser (6312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2014
Smokey and charcoal taste and aroma. Not sure what this style is. I liked but the old lady didn’t. Campfire taste. HogTownHarry (6942) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 11, 2012
October 30, 2011 - Volo Cask Days 2011 - gravity cask. Very hazy chestnut pour with a small frothy off-white head. Smells mild - hardwood smoke, maple bacon, somewhat sweet, but nice (heard "hamhock!!!" loudly in the background from LagerLoather). Taste is very straightforward - moderate dry nutty roast, sweet light caramel malt backbone, a surprising amount of light floral/herbal bitterness, and oddly, orange juice ... the smoke knocks the sweetness down quite nicely. Light body, mild carbonation, a dry slightly smoky finish, sadly no bacon in the aftertaste :-( blankboy (7699) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2012
Cask at Cask Days 2011. Beer #25 of festival and my last. Pours a really deep ruby-brown with a small lasting bubbly off-white head. Pleasant lightly smoky and fruity aroma. Flavour of light smoke, lightly toasted malt and dark fruit. Average bodied. Pretty good, an easy-drinking version of the style.

Cask Days 2011, muddy brown penny like copper pour. Smoke was milder which was nice. It didnt dominate but complimented. Nice drinkable if not sessionable smoked JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 31, 2011
Amber pour. The aroma is lightly smoky and a little bit fruity. Sort of toasty and a little bit of smoke and some heavy sweetness. A touch of cherry character. It’s nice.

Cask Days 2011. Serviceable smoked beer. Dark colour. I like this style, and it’s a decent go at it. yespr (45508) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - OCT 21, 2011
From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep orange to brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is smoked, meaty and light caramelish. Meaty flavoured, light sweetness and dark malty to toffee caramelish - on the dry side.
