Black color, with some mahogany highlights, with a creamy tan-beige head, mild roasted, toasted malt nose, with some light cappuccino, mochaish accents, with some chocolate, fruity plummy, coffee notes, within a faint floral hop leafy aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a good roasted, chocolate, black malt character with some nice flowery hop leafy, grassy, piney accents and some coffee bean, bitter dark chocolate flavours, leading towards a good piney, cedray hop bitterness finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pitch black with a tan head.  It has a soft roasty cocoa aroma & light citrusy hops - really  black IPA aroma/taste. Well done.

neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 30, 2010
On cask for Cask Days at Volo in Toronto. Served in an English pint glass. Pours slightly reddish black with a small, rocky tan head. The head remains but does not lace. The nose has notes of grain and roasted malts, along with caramel, flowers, pine, grapefruit, earth and a hint of grape. The flavour begins slightly sweet but soon becomes moderately bitter. The finish is long and lingering, with bitter leafy hops. It is medium in body with a milky texture and flat carbonation. Overall, a nice combination of IPA hoppiness with roasty notes. 2010-10-29

2010-10-29. Black body, small frothy tan head. Flavour is interesting, modest roast, modest bitterness throughout, light green leafy character. It is not super complex, but quite good. Modest leafy green hops in the aroma. 6+ Average palate. 3+ Pretty decent. Cask at Volo, Toronto

TheJester (2542) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 20, 2011
On tap at Benelux. (Listed as a "west coast stout" at 6.8%). The aroma is all hops - no roast or caramel features. Lots of fresh hops. The flavour has lots of hops early, some roast in the middle, and some chocolate at the end. Nice lingering bitterness. Full creamy body. Nice beer.

Cask at Soirée des Grands Crus, Siboire (Sherbrooke). Appearance: Black with a small creamy brown/moka head and beautiful lacing. Aroma: Citrus, coffee, chocolate and hops. Taste: Citrus, roasted malt and hops. Palate is creamy. Slight bitterness. Overall: Well balanced and refreshing but could add more complexity.

Marheb (6030) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 27, 2012
Sapiné, floral et résineux, elle ne fait rien d’extraordinaire mais ne croule pas sous les malts rotis. Agréable, sans plus.

Stoned99 (1649) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 1, 2016
Sample from brother’s glass at the pub. Aroma: really green hop aroma, tobacco light roasted malt. App: pitch black with small mocha head with ok retention leaving good lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, roasty and smokey bitter finish. Overall: not a big fan of beer that tastes tobacco and / or a smokey. This is also heavily hopped. Drinkable but with small sizes only.

VTHopHead (1511) - Seymour, Tennessee, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Sample at the 2010 VT Brewers Fest - Pours a clear black/brown in color with a small tan head that faded, but left some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is plenty hoppy... both citrus and pine... with a hefty amount of roasted malts, along with just a bit of chocolate and coffee. Flavor was the same... minus most of the hop flavors... and that was a bit disappointing. Still a decent black IPA though...
