gramity (1678) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 14, 2016
Hazy dark brown hue, with a small beige head, nice toasted and dark dried fruit nose, of dates, raisins, plums, hint of yeastiness, faint toffeeish accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp toasted malt and fruit character, with a note of roastiness malt, hints of black coffee and dark bitter chocolate, with a subtle earthy smokiness, leading towards a toasty, fruity, hops bittering finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

En fût au Benelux Sherbrooke. Couleur acajou laissant filtrer la lumière, mousse beige laissant un anneau sur les parois du verre. Arôme de malt grillé, noisette. Goût de malt grillé, légère amertume, houblon herbal. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.

on tap on the premises. unclear medium dark copper pour, red tint, with a very nice light beige cap, good retention and lacing. meaty berries - cherries mostly, sweet fruity melanoidin and other specialty maltiness, layers of red caramel, noble grass, some sweetness - berry jam; clean german yeast, salt. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet berry-grassy finish. like a tasty multi-layered caramel atop a cherry. for those with a sugary tooth, this is a pretty solid red bock.

(hiver 2006-07)

My Bottom Line:
Caramel-topped cookies and the subtle dried fruitiness of Munich malts sculpt an intricate and delicate flavor profile for this Dunkler Bock, as lengthy earthy and herbal hop bitterness rises seamlessly.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy sheet of foam covers the orange-lined mahogany.
-The cushy effervescence makes for a pillowy body.
-Dextrins could be a tad firmer in mouth if more authenticity is desired.
-The aroma beautifully announces what is to come in the flavor profile.

On tap at the brewpub.

on tap @ benelux: Pours dark brown with a nice little head. The aroma...well, I did not smell much. No hops nothing. The taste was very nice, to me indistinct but easy to drink. As a bock it does not fit, but as a blind taste, not bad.

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 5, 2010
A clearish copper bock with a fine smoky, almondy perfume. They did not go for authenticity with this one, but in terms of taste and drinkability, it is astounding. Its engaging carbonation compensates for its relative chewy bulk. Displaying only minimal caramelly hints, it instead focuses on toasty fruitiness and an eclectic, fragrant hoppiness. Deeply earthy, agreeably citrusy, its flavours dance on the tongue and leave a lingering impression of contrasts between the hops’ bitterness, the cerealic roastiness and the layered malts. Lager lovers of which I am may not find much lager character in here, but it does not mean it ain’t lovely. I repeat myself, but this is a pint I drank in less than 10 minutes and I’d gladly have gotten another had I had no meeting. Arriving home that evening, I was browsing through the cellar and nothing seemed as interesting as that original bock I had just abandonned.

Pours a clear brownish ruby color with a thin offwhite head.Nice aroma of toasted malt, fruits and caramel. Good flavor of toasted malt, caramel and fruits, there’s a weird bitterness in the end. The body is light to médium with soft carbonation. Imtereting.

Dark red color with a beige head. It has a nutty aroma and taste You can realy feel the malt in this beer, just a bit of fruit. As for bitterness well just a small amount. On tap at Benelux.
