Bottled (@ PivniGaleriePraha): Ruby-amber coloured, medium-sized fluffy tanned head, lacing and slowly collapsing; sweet dark-malty, caramelly nose with a distinctive touch of toasted malt; sweet (malty) flavour, surprisingly full bodied, velvet MF; longer sweet-caramelly finish with a delicate bitterness in the very end. A bit on the sweet side, but all in all a very pleasant and decent Dunkles ! saxo (18301) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2007
Bottle. Nice big head with good duration. Color is dark and close to black. Aroma is rich and malty. Taste is roast malt with some caramel. locarboy (129) - USA - FEB 25, 2007
Pours dark brown, about the color of a brown ale. Nice off-white head about 1.5 inches. Fuzzy carbonation. Malty carmel aroma. No lacing down the glass. Sweet up front with carmelized sugar and chocolate flavor. Somewhat grainy, metalic finish with hop bitterness. A bit thin, but expected in a lager of 4.5% abv. A nice session beer. Bottled "Dark Lager" (BB 10/2010)Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 10, 2011
Dark brown color, small beige head. Chocolate, cardboard, dominantly roasted rye-bread/malts in the nose. Medium-bodied - quite good body actually for 11 plato Czech lager. Caramelly, chocolaty, mild roasted malty flavor. Light hoppyness behind the sweet aftertaste, some licorice too. Balanced, ok Czech dunkel.
Draft @ Ferdinanda. Thick dark brown with thick thick tan head. Aroma is surprisingly spicy and enticing. The malts smell really dry and like there is caraway here. Soft palate but high carbonation. Slight sourness does not detract but would prefer it not to be there. But overall it’s a nice balanced brew. I especially appreciate how it’s spicy and dark and not sweet.

Pours a very nice clear dark brown, sustained head, medium lacing. Somewhat thin-bodied and light. Smell has some woods/forest in addition to the usual caramel and cola. Flavors are moderately sweet (brown sugar) and light-to-moderate bitterness (grass). When cold, this is a very nice example of a mid-sweetness dunkel; not your overdone watery cola nut or waaay to sweet caramel variety. Balanced. Better than the sum of the parts and worth a revisit if better dunkels aren’t around. Bottle, very fresh as always from Piwoteka. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUN 5, 2011
Draught at Uusi Apteekki, Turku. Dark reddish brown color. The aromas of dark bread, caramel and toffee. In the flavor dark bread and toffee is on the top with some caramelly background notes. Slightly sweet but not overly so. Quite nice breakfast beer. tampierre (1383) - Pilsen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 4, 2013
