COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to a smooth, chocolatey, semi-roasted ale that bridges the islands of porter and stout. And if you aren’t a fan of bridges, there’s always the canoe.

Pours cola brown with nice khaki head. Strong coffee scent with bitter chocolate notes. Body on the light side of porter. Taste is strong coffee again with malts and chocolate as well. Smooth finish. A good but not great stout/porter.

Pretty good stout. A touch too sweet for me personally, nevertheless solid. Good coffee and roastiness.

12oz can poured at home. Can says it’s a black ale, ratebeer says it’s a stout - untapped says it’s a dark ale. Either way, it is a nice refreshing beer.

Can; pours nearly black with a beige head; aroma of chocolate, caramel, and coffee with hints of brown sugar and nuts; taste is more sweet than bitter with chocolate, coffee, caramel, and roasted malt with hints of brown sugar; finish is light bitter

Can: Charred oak, tree bark, and baker’s chocolate aroma, not strong. Mahogany, thin tan head. Chocolate and raisin, strawberry accents. Medium body, moderate carbonation. I expected this to be fairly ordinary but it turned out to be really nice.

Body is lighter than a porter but the dark, slightly bitter chocolate aroma is more in line with a porter and an excellent indicator of the taste to come. Mildly sharp and sweet finish reflects its good overall balance. Poured from a can.

Can in a Minneapolis restaurant. Darkish brown black colour, off white foam. Quite bitter, lots of black and chocolate malt, but also quite some hop with a slightly herbal and bitter note. A bit fizzy and somehow not that easy to get down. Just felt a bit almost there but not quite coming together.

Very attractive black pour with a luscious, full, creamy opaque head that looks like melted ice cream. Lots of roasted coffee, chocolate and malt. Super creamy palate and great lacing. Great beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 fl oz can via Piscator34. Pours a near opaque brown with a thick undulating mocha head. Aromas are subtle chocolate, coffee, and bark. Tastes of roasty malts and coffee. Medium body and carbonation, smooth and creamy on the palate with a medium bitter finish. Nice beer.
